Paramahansa Yogananda must be rolling in his grave.

So, we don't know anything about the person that has captured the House of the People except that she has all the requisite qualifications: melanin and menses.

We have lost our effing minds.

When I lived in CA, I knew someone who was a follower of Yogananda, a yogi guru popular in the US in the 70s. He died in the 50s, but he had numerous followers.

My friend took us to visit a commune in the foothills. It was named Ananda, and the American “guru” (and founder) had picked a similar name for himself.

He didn’t live there, but lived with his mother, who was a Mary Kay saleswoman who had earned a pink Cadillac. So he would come up once a week or so in her pink Cadillac and step out in his guru outfit. Truly silly, but he had a lot of followers and I think was living fairly well off the commune.

Many lonely people, especially women, were suckered in by these frauds in the 1970s. I would suspect that the parents (probably the mother) of our current “Yogananda” were among them.
