On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump released another statement bashing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who he previously described as a “dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack”. In the latest statement, responding to false accusations from the Wall Street Journal that he is responsible for the loss of two Republican Senate seats in Georgia, lays the blame squarely on Republican Governor Brian Kemp and McConnell.
Initially responding to The Wall Street Journal, President Trump wrote “The Wall Street Journal editorial page continues, knowingly, to fight for globalist policies such as bad trade deals, open borders, and endless wars that favor other countries and sell out our great American workers, and they fight for RINOS that have so badly hurt the Republican Party. That’s where they are and that’s where they will always be. Fortunately, nobody cares much about The Wall Street Journal editorial anymore.” He added, “They have lost great credibility.”
President Trump then sought to “set the record straight” on why the Republican Party lost the two Georgia Senate seat. “First, Republicans did not turn out to vote because they were so angry and disappointed with Georgia Republican leadership and Governor Kemp for failing to stand up to Stacey Abrams and the disastrous Consent Decree that virtually eliminated signature verification requirements across the state (and much worse),” President Trump wrote, which he says led to “a rigged election.”
Then, President Trump proceeded to explain how McConnell – the leader of the Republican Party in the Senate – bungled the race by refusing to recognize political realities.
“Second, Senator Mitch McConnell’s refusal to go above $600 per person on the stimulus check payments when the two Democrat opponents were touting $2,000 per person in ad after ad. This latter point was used against our Senators and the $2,000 will be approved anyway by the Democrats who bought the Georgia election—and McConnell let them do it!” President Trump added, “Even more stupidly, the National Republican Senatorial Committee spent millions of dollars on ineffective TV ads starring Mitch McConnell, the most unpopular politician in the country, who only won in Kentucky because President Trump endorsed him. He would have lost badly without this endorsement.”
President Trump also included a graphic which clearly illustrates how McConnell’s poll performance dramatically increased at precisely the time President Trump endorsed him using his Twitter account on June 19, 2020. The chart also shows a second boost for McConnell after President Trump recorded a robocall endorsing McConnell on October 31, 2020.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, a strong ally of McConnell and lukewarm ally of President Trump, recently traveled to the President’s Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida for the purpose of convincing President Trump to abandon his feud with McConnell, despite McConnell generating the ill will when he repeatedly accused President Trump of inciting an insurrection on January 6. It appears Graham was unsuccessful.
President Trump also noted that McConnell cannot speak authoritatively on China, as he has strong familial ties to the communist country. McConnell’s family controls a shipping magnate that, while nominally based in the United States, exclusively sails with flags from foreign countries. Additionally, McConnell’s net worth dramatically increased alongside the fortunes of this shipping company.
McConnell is also willing to work to serve the Biden regime’s agenda. Recently, he confirmed that he will green light the Senate confirmation of Biden’s Attorney General nominee, Merrick Garland, who has sought to curtail the Second Amendment for over 20 years.
I like plain English more.
Cancel culture much?
The Wall Street Journal goes down for the count.
Personally it depends,,,on what I'm cooking or liking.
What's your favorite......
Thanks to you and all posters. Never a dull day at Free Republic.
What’s he counterpunching against? A toothless, inconsequential opponent?
Ha, ha... Mitch McConnell is anything but toothless. He is the leader of Minority in the Senate and controls several RINOs. He needs to be attacked.
Someone said you don’t belong here. I don’t agree if you are capable of stepping up your game and responding intelligently. It would be great to have a diversity of well thought out opinion.
So far, though your responses have been quite childish. Express your opinion in a way that people can respect your opposite opinion.
Mitch McConnell’s loyalties are suspect, at best....China or the USA Mitch?
Who asked you?
By the way, if you are too dense to have figured it out yet, this is Trump country.
Your posts would imply you are not all that enamored with President Trump.
You might want to wander off to a site that is more to your liking??
There are many anti-Trumper, pro-establishment sites where your political sensibilities would allow you to fit in quite nicely!
Perfect timing?
Elaine Chao Used DOT Resources For Personal Errands, Family Business, IG Report Says
Bingo. The corrupt RINOS made a deal to allow the Democrats to steal the election through massive election fraud.
The Deplorables then refused to show up and vote for the two RINO senators in retaliation for the RINO establishment’s betrayal.
That was just the start though. Just wait to see what theDeplotables do to RINOs like Kemp and Ratburger in 2022.
Perhaps why he is a billionaire and won the US Presidency, but you have not??
PS - welcome to FR n00b!
I’m old enough to remember (in other words, more than 4 years old) when Trump supporters would say, “Hey, the guy is flawed and abrasive but he’s got the right priorities and I subscribe to his agenda.”
Now the cult of personality so highly developed in the Soviet bloc is much admired by some, and any criticism of Dear Leader must be suppressed.
It sure seems like a pretty cancel-y culture, don’t it?
You joined December.....2020
I see you haven’t wasted any time honing your particular brand of sarcasm
Not attractive
Thanks for your kind greeting!
But how does attacking a source which he himself declares to be irrelevant promote either his financial success or political rebound?
I know that Ronald Reagan occasionally gets some half-hearted genuflection around these parts, but I don’t recall him incessantly banging on the opposition, much less his own party.
That’s why they make chocolate and vanilla.
President Trump came to Georgia with the specific message that his Deplorables (as well as his undeplorable supporters) should turn out to vote for Loeffler and Perdue.
Did they disregard his plea out of hatred and a thirst for retaliation?
That's some dopey hyperbole.
Kentucky Primary featured 6 palookas who couldn't get to 20% combined. No valid primary candidate, no upset.
Main event featured baby eater Amy McGrath, who lost by 19.53%. "He would have lost badly", my ass. I don't like Miotch but he was re-elected at 7:00:01pm ET the moment the polls closed.
The better take by Trump should have been to laser focus on the Democrats running 75M jammed through Amy McGrath's terrible campaign -- money laundering! Her media buys were not that much more than McConnell, who spent a fraction of that defending. Her non-associate SuperPAC media buys were also not that saturated. Where did ALL THAT MONEY GO? The Campaign Legal Center has hauled her fat ass in front of the FEC!
If we're going to talk about election fraud we need to not just talk about voter fraud, and here Trump missed a golden opportunity to put her SuperPACs into the Narrative and on the defensive.
But no, that's just too much goddamn effort for even the former President, much less anyone here to understand...
As for Miotch, Secretary of State Daniel Cameron will trounce Lil Andy for Ky Governor 2023, then appoint himself to Miotch's seat when Miotch retires somewhere in 2025-2026.
Mr. Trump should primary little Marco Rubio and win his seat in the Senate and give the senate bird brains living hell. That would be fun to see.
There ya go. That's how it's done.
Quietly, legally, investigate his family funding. He's not running again anyway, but muddy the inevitable exit.
Here's what a Trump masterstroke would look like: invite Ky Secretary of State Daniel Cameron -- a groomed McConnell progeny -- to Mar-A-Lago very soon for a one-on-one, feature Cameron as the point man for how well state legislatures are pushing back on petty COVID goobernor dictators, as Kentucky's SB1 would limit goobernor Emergency Powers to just 30 days.
"I believe, President Trump is best for this country," Cameron told ABC News Political Director Rick Klein and Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl on the "Powerhouse Politics" podcast in response to questions about Trump's approach and statements on race. "Whether it be economically, or whether it is related to how he fights every day for the American worker...I appreciate the values that this party upholds and I think they've been consistent with the way that the president has conducted himself in the last four years."
