Henry Kissinger said President Joe Biden should uphold the "brilliant" realignment in Middle Eastern politics achieved under the Trump administration during a Tuesday event.
Kissinger praised the Trump administration’s diplomatic corps for its strategy of pitting major Sunni Muslim countries in the Middle East against Iran. The strategy, Kissinger said, served to isolate Tehran and opened the door to a new approach to Middle Eastern foreign policy that advances American interests.

Trump's initiative was on the path to secure a peace in the Middle East.
I won’t be selling off my defense stocks any time soon.
Democrats love to bomb things.
Henry the CHYna architect said dat? I thought he assumed room temperature.
Kiss, c’mon man.
I think this is the only thing I’ve ever agreed with Kissinger about.
They do, but they like to do it out of inventory. Remember how Obama starved the military for re-supply through the sequester. And they feel guilty about developing new military technologies.
But No Peace Prize, though, eh, Hank?................
I think Trump’s Middle East policy will turn out to have been a failure built on false premises, but I hope to be proven wrong by history.
It’s my view that the House of Saud is doomed, that Turks and Persians will always prevail over Arabs, and that peace treaties with tiny sheikdoms that won’t survive the collapse of the Riyadh regime by five minutes will prove to have been a waste of time.
Kissinger is still alive! These evil old bastards never go away FFS!
You may be right. But, the alternative is even worse. Sometimes, foreign policy is a binary choice. In this case, we can encourage and support the Saud/Israeli alliance, or we can negotiate with Iran which will only guarantee their eventual development of a working nuclear device that is payload capable and the missile tech to deliver that payload.
The only chance this works out well is if Iran collapses in on itself and the more moderate, secular governing elements in Turkey wrest control from Erdogan and his crew. Over the last few years, there have been hints that both could happen under better circumstances.
Saud likely will fail. But, it’s our job to ensure Iran and Turkey fail first.
Kissinger is still alive? He ain’t human.
Did the devil go ice fishing this morning?
What most people don’t realize is how long he’s been holed up at the Hoover Institute, with the likes of neocon scum like McMaster: https://www.hoover.org/profiles/henry-kissinger
He’s still alive?
More cognitive than Biden.
Not sure who shocks me more by being alive, Kissinger or Norman Lear.
What are you talking about? Trump conducted more airstrikes and and drone strikes on point than both Bush/Obama combined
Which is it Biden an endless war WWIII Zionist Jooo Israeli first CFR Neocon or a pro Iranian pro ISIS socialist peacenik? FR lefty populism knows no bounds in kookary
I don't really care about his answer, I just want him to name Democrat names and globalist shadow orgs so conservative media can punch down on those names and orgs for years.
Fantasy.
Learn the lesson of Afghanistan. The Turks and the Persians are being governed according to their nature. Liberal democracy is anathema to both (and after the damage it's caused our people, should be here as well).
The idea that tinkering with/bribing/bombing sectors of those nations will turn them into something they are not is a silly dream.
I can’t speak to the natu4re of Iran as I’ve never been there. But, I’ve spent a great deal of time in Turkey over the years. Much of the country is populated with people who are ideologically closer to your average European than to a devout Muslim. They’re Turks who happen to be Muslim, not Muslims who happen to be Turks. Erdogan represents a minority cohort of uber-religious zealots.
