Mike Pence Breaks His Silence on Election

Too little too late… we don’t want to hear it…
Former Vice President Pence on Wednesday criticized the 2020 election in his his first extended written comments since leaving office in January.
Pence said there were “significant voting irregularities” and “numerous instances of officials setting aside state election law” in the 2020 presidential election.
The remarks were offered by Pence in an op-ed published by the Daily Signal, a publication run by the conservative Heritage Foundation. The context was an attack on H.R. 1, a voting rights bill the House is expected to pass on Wednesday, that Pence said would “increase opportunities for election fraud.”
" “Many of the most troubling voting irregularities took place in states that set aside laws enacted by state legislatures in favor of sweeping changes ordered by governors, secretaries of state, and courts.”“While legislators in many states have begun work on election reform to restore public confidence in state elections, unfortunately, congressional Democrats have chosen to sweep those valid concerns and reforms aside and to push forward a brazen attempt to nationalize elections in blatant disregard of the U.S. Constitution.”
Not only did he not act, but he didn't even speak out or take a stand.
He just turned back into a giant lump of swamp-trash.
He had nothing to lose and everything to gain just by doing nothing and forcing it to the SC.
Inaction - the sign of a real leader.
This.👌
Well said. I hope that when my time comes to stand up, I have the courage and determination to do it.
For craven political reasons, Pence failed. And I am not just talking about certifying a fraudulent election. I am talking about vocally supporting and standing up for the man who selected him for high office: Donald Trump.
We should have heard his voice in the four years leading up the election and did not.
I completely agree with you here. The place for the fraud to be corrected - if all other legal avenues failed - was in the state legislatures. They select the electors. They can alter that process. By the time it got to Pence, it was already done. The role of the VP in elections is literally just to open the certificates. It starts and ends with that action. This notion that he's somehow going to just throw votes away and declare a president is downright terrifying.
It seems people forget how and why our system of federalism is what it is. The states formed the Federal government; not the people. The Senate originally represented the states; not the people. It should return to that. The whims of the masses are dangerous. The states should have much more say than they do. Putting yet more power into the hands of the masses is dangerous. Putting the power to select the President of the United States into one man's hands? That would be insane.
Trump has a remarkable ability to draw out RINOs, GOPees, and squishes. But he didn’t have the ability to detect them before he trusted them, like Sessions, Ryan, Barr, etc.
HAs anyone listened to this idiot Karl Rove? He was saying Suinday, that Trump and the GOP need to court the female and suburban vote if they are to win in the future.
IOWs, that’s why Trump lost.
This idiot actually thinks we’re buying that.
He probably knows, he’ll get kicked off FOX if he challenges things.
Hey, Jackass Rove, how can one lose all but one bellweather county and still win?
Pence did nothing...NADA to help out Trump. The worst. They were all in on it.
Coward.
Is Pence a secular Judas?
If he doesn’t show up, the President pro tempore of the United States Senate stands up and opens the certificates. Zero net effect.
“Pence had his opportunity for greatness and he failed miserably.”
I only learned today that Pence led the commission to investigate voter fraud (The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity) early in PDJT’s administration. People have been wondering why it got shut down so easily and quickly. The official word was that states weren’t cooperating, but now I wonder if there’s not more to it.
Is it a coincidence that Pence didn’t do more to stop fraud via that Commission in 2017 AND that he condoned fraud in 2021?
And he failed the country by hiring, and then retaining, Fauci and Birx on the WuFlu Task Force.
Whose side was/is he on, anyway?
Mike Pence can take a leap into a full cesspool, open his lying mouth, and swallow deeply.
In late August 1968 at the Democrat National Convention in Chicago, with riots in the streets, Herbert Humphrey stood at the podium with the eyes of the nation fixed on him, and accepted his party’s presidential nomination.
The Vietnam War was raging and the detested warmonger LBJ had declined to seek a 2nd full term. Here, at a dramatic crossroads in history, with America’s future within his grasp, and occupying the bully pulpit, Humphrey failed to seize the moment, speak out, and rise to the call of greatness. Now, he’s but a footnote in the story of LBJ’s fall from grace and Richard Nixon’s ascendancy to the Presidency.
Mike Pence is cut from the same cloth, although not on national TV, Pence too stood at a crossroads in the history of the Republic and failed to stand up and be counted. The hopes of freedom loving people the world over cried out in vain as his voice went silent and agents provacatur ransacked the US Capitol Building.
Very few men ever have the exceedingly rare opportunities squandered by Humphrey and Pence, but those brave few who take command in distressing times and right the ship of state are rightfully honored down through the generations.
Because they haven't heard any of the related cases...and they haven't heard any of them because they are cowards (aside from Thomas and Alito).
blah blah blah
You might be in a tiny minority here but you are 100% correct. I don’t understand why so many people here on FR refuse to hold the legislatures of those states responsible for that 2020 election fiasco.
Rand Paul stated h would visit the states to publicize this, hope he has lots of company.
