BOSTON (CBS) — President Joe Biden on Tuesday called on states to prioritize vaccinating teachers and school staff by the end of March. In Massachusetts, teachers are not currently eligible to sign up for a coronavirus vaccine appointment.
Biden made the announcement about teachers while also declaring that the United States will have enough vaccine supply for all Americans by the end of May.
“My challenge to all states. . . we want every educator, school staff member, childcare worker to receive at least one shot by the end of the month of March,” Biden said.
On his Twitter, the following is posted: Today, I am directing every state to prioritize educators for vaccination. We want every educator, school staff member, and child-care worker to receive at least one shot by the end of this month.
It’s time to treat in-person learning like the essential service that it is.

Why? They want to stay on vacation anyway.
Maybe he should stick with things he actually has the authority to do,
Very few people in the age 65 to 74 have gotten their first vaccination shot yet. Now the teachers union is butting into the line and shoving the seniors aside.
Many do not want it.
Killing Seniors is what Democrats do all the time. Just ask Joe's friend Andy from New York.
I'll be 74 in August if I live that long. I don't have any plans to get it. They don't even have an accurate test for the virus.
Biden is a dunce. Ohio already did this last month
That’s what they call leading from behind.
I know seniors who are cancer survivors, want to be vaccinated, and can’t get one.
Today, I am directing every state to prioritize educators for vaccination.
First off, by the time that is done, it will be summer recess Bidoff. Second, I cannot wait to hear Gov DeSantis response to this nonsense.
Exactly. Even if they all get vaccinated, then the unions will just say “we can’t go back to work until all the students are vaccinated”.
Then when all the students get vaccinated the unions will say “we can’t go back to work until all the students’ family members are vaccinated”. Etc, etc, etc.
I am one of them. I have been trying to make an appointment for more than a month. I want the vaccination.
Also college professors.
My senior son 2 days ago polled his admissions offices for 10 colleges he’s been accepted to in these states for their Fall 2021 instruction delivery plans: CA, OR, TX, AZ, NV, and LA, and it’s disappointing that so many colleges—7 months from now!—are still planning on 100% remote or mostly remote or a mix of in-person/remote.
None so far is stating 100% in person. One college in OR is stating they will offer 100% in person for lower division classes, so he’ll likely go there.
99.6% survival rate.......
I know lots of seniors who’ve gotten both shots now. But it’s not easy—they strategize and plot with each other how best to snag an appt. Sometimes waiting on hold for hours. Mainly CA requires the wealthy white old people to drive to dangerous low income areas (for “equity” reasons).
Or do you think you have powers that President Trump didn't?
These people are not dying of covid.
Their parents and grandparents are the high risk and should continue to be top priority....except younger people at high risk. Diabetes, asthma, obesity. Other comorbidities.
The reason they gave to close schools was to prevent people from killing grandma. So give grandma the vax.
Yep. My BIL had it. Just got the 2nd shot and feels worse than when he had COVID.
Wait, the teacher unions told me virtual learning was no different than in person learning and the lids had no issues.
