‘I’m not sure what to think but I feel like we’ve already made this mistake in Texas twice relaxing the rules too early and it created a giant mess...’
uh, don’t know how to tell you this, but ‘relaxing rules’ didn’t cause any mess; crazed politicians and doctors did...
and why is it ‘too early’now; these same wackos were pushing the two weeks to flatten the curve almost a year ago...
you want to wear the forking mask, go ahead...
He should have never closed it.
Great end the the tyranny across the nation.
Whitmer tried the mask mandate thing here in Michigan..but the Michigan Supreme Court smacked her ass down....how she got around it was by letting the state health director issue the mandates instead....they laid it all on businesses and punished them if they allowed anyone in mask less...alot of the businesses put these fake signs in the windows saying masks were a ‘STATE LAW”....which was absurd. It all came down to if you wanted to fight with the stores about it....
The mistake was not “relaxing the rules”-it was making them in the 1st place based on hysteria and fake science promoted by power-mad research docs like Fauci and politicians with a control fetish-2 weeks turned into a year to flatten a curve that may or may not have existed-which makes no sense in the real world-but if you are one of those who still believes the Wuhan virus is really not going to dare to get into a mask with openings comparable to a chainlink fence, then by all means, keep that face diaper on...
A couple of Karens living here on the road are still screaming “mask, mask”-interesting that they operate a tourist trap nearby, and are making and selling all kinds of plain and fancy masks for $5 to $12 in the shop-they do not want this new stream of income from fear to end...
Most of my restaurant/bar owner and worker friends are pretty upset about it, freaking out a lot. They liked the statewide and city mandates because it allowed small business owners to not be the “bad guy” in the situation if they have to enforce their own rules
I’m not sure what to think but I feel like we’ve already made this mistake in Texas twice relaxing the rules too early and it created a giant mess
Also we are only 49th in %vaccinated so there’s that
I first looked for your /sarc tag.
Then, I realized you are.....serious.
We know SEVERAL restaurant and bar owners/workers that are ONLY UPSET about all of the business they have either lost, or....business completely closed....due to these inane mask mandates.
There should have NEVER been one, to begin with....like Florida.
If Karen’s want to wear one, go right ahead.
The REAL science proves they do NOTHING, except CAUSE PROBLEMS.
Relaxing rules has NOT created a ‘giant mess’, in TX, or anywhere else.
Geez. You’re sounding like you might have a lot in common with the lady I saw driving on I-10, this past weekend, BY HERSELF in her car, wearing a dang mask.
Again...if it makes you feel ‘better’, go right ahead....but....don’t kill an economy or cause others more illness/stress by mandating they wear one.

I say it every time King Clay orders a decree. In spite of my moniker, I am a Fort Worthian :) although I foresee Tarrant County slipping into the blue morass
Hell, Iowa did this a month ago.
Problem is, people run and get a Covid test if they sneeeze or have a sniffle and this inflates the numbers. Everyone I know has had a least one Covid test-many tested several times, over nothing. The false positives have been devastating.
I want to like Abbott but he's still a politician. Whether you agree with this decision or not it is obviously a way to distract from the freeze.
Distance from the freeze fail/ERCOT fail and .... pick up speed he lost, to DeSantis.
Given the huge downturn in cases and hospitalizations, and the rollout of vaccines, I think that the governor is being...
Plus there are MANY treatments that Fauci NEVER mentions that thankfully, many doctors are using successfully.
At Home Depot, no one is removed for failing to wear a mask. Employees are encouraged to ask a customer if they want a mask to be provided, but no further engagement is allowed.
Prager's polite response is so true and it is so appropriate to today's continuing covid hysteria:
"Until it's safe" means "never."
Maybe you should move somewhere safe like New York City. They have some pretty solid lockdowns. And a death rate per 100,000 more than twice as high as Texas. (NYC - 350 deaths per 100,000; Texas 148 per 100,000 people. Source CDC Covid Data Tracker)
Thanks! He’s hoping for Texas Tech. Yes Computer Science. He already got into Oregon Tech—but very cold! He’s a skilled programmer already (had 2 P/T jobs coding now), but his GPA is not the best, so he didn’t apply to top schools.
He is looking for public school with reasonable out-of-state tuition. And TX really offers that (FL, for example, does not).
He loves New Orleans and was accepted into University of New Orleans but it’s looking like they are planning still hybrid/online/in-person mix. Most colleges nationwide seem to be still thinking along those lines for Fall 2021 unfortunately.
Thanks again. He got into 4 Cal States which of course is the most affordable option but they are hopeless about reopening. Chico State already announced only 30% in person classes will be offered—and it’s 7 months from now!
Will he defend the border from the illegals?
