Iranian-backed Houthis threaten to attack Aramco: 'Wider scope than 2019 attack'

The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, who released footage of their ballistic missiles targeted Saudi Arabia’s capital over the weekend, have warned Saudi Arabia against escalation in the western and northern frontlines of Yemen. They say they will strike at Saudi Arabia’s Aramco if Saudi Arabia or UAE “fighters or supporters” commit “aggression” in certain areas.

Snip....

It appears the Safer reference is to an area that was once at the heart of the battle for Marib in 2015. Today the Houthis are marching on Marib again. The Biden administration has warned them against attacks on Riyadh and urged them to stop the offensive but the Biden administration also took them off a terror list. In 2015 The National noted that the Saudi-led Coalition “began moving supplies to Marib in March, using land routes from Saudi Arabia through Hadramout and Shabwa provinces. Last month, coalition forces started flying more reinforcements to Marib using a small airport in the tiny town of Safer, 60km east of Marib city. Loyalist military sources said further reinforcements including tanks, armoured vehicles, rocket launchers and Apache helicopters arrived last week.”

snip.....

The Houthis say they are in the midst of their latest operations against Saudi Arabia and a large scale offensive in Marib. The report quotes Mujib Shamsan telling Al-Akhbar: "The most important message is to warn the Saudi regime not to think of attacking Ma'rib oil structures ....Therefore, if the Safar oil sectors are targeted by Saudi or Riyadh-based fighter jets, the Sanaa forces will also use ‘UAVs and missiles will bomb Saudi oil structures in a large-scale operation.’” He warned of another Abqaiq-style attack.

So, Iran took the Biden removal of the Houthi terrorist label as a signal to resume the offensive in Yemen

The war in Yemen will bring Biden to a war with Iran

I think the Biden cabal are really allies of Iran. They are more likely to aid the Hothis and impede Saudi Arabia as much as they can.

Agree, Biden is an ally of Iran. He will not go to war with them nor will he hold them accountable.

Nevertheless, is Aramco worth the death of one American soldier? If people wish to invest in the Mideast quagmire with the 9/11 Saudis and other local characters, that is their business and risk.

Your thinking is too narrow and actually out of date

President Trump immensely aided the creation of a strong Israeli/Arab coalition that will do the fighting. At issue in my view is providing the aircraft and weapons the coalition can use to win the battles with Iran

The Arabs in question are Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and Oman. Recently, Qatar rejoined the coalition fold.

Aramco is symbolic of what is at stake. A Yemeni can boast but the boasting could result in the destruction of Iranian oil and everything. Yemen is trivial nothing surrogate. The coalition is going to drop the Iranian surrogate ruse and go after Iran directly.

The way for the coalition to win against the piss ant in Yemen is to take out Bandar Shapur

Did it ever occur to you that if the 9/11 Saudis cannot even control adjacent, impoverished, backward Yemen, that they are not very formidable and not worth very much? they are definitely not worth the sacrifice of any more American lives. Yea when George Bush, who’s family became incredibly wealthy dealing in oil with the 9/11 Saudis, invaded Iraq instead of holding the saudis who perfored the deed and who were well aware in advance of the plot. reasonable decent people were and remain repulsed. Rethink you position and think about all those dead, physically and pyschologically mangled young American who were deployed in that quagmire. Try to understand that no one more than the Saudis benefitted when Bush invaded Iraq.America has suffered greatly.

Try explaining to the sixty thousand American families that mourn the dead and continue to suffer daily the consequences of the physically and psychologially maimed by that quagmire that the post is irrevelent. Also explain to the American people how they benefitted. In addition to the personal suffering over three trillion dollars was squandered. The American economy weakened and the political consequence was the election of the America hating Obama and his acolytes who continue to reak havoc on America. Some don’t find it strange at all that GW Bush and Michele Obama are such good friends. Nor do others, who understand the Stockholm syndrome, find it unbelievable that some people readily embrace the 9/11 Saudis and are essentially clueless.
