A PANEL OF expert advisers to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday voted in favor of authorizing Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, bringing it an important step closer to a U.S. rollout.
The FDA is likely to authorize the one-shot vaccine within a day or so after receiving the recommendation of the panel, making it the third available in the United States.

The check cleared???
It’s a no from me.
Only Merck has it right on the vaccine.
..........lol, if the feds want to use J & J then that’s tantamount to divine instruction to use the competing vaccine...............
“Only Merck has it right on the vaccine.”
How so?
“Step right up and get your two Johnsons!”
That was quick. They just submitted it this week.
J & J is a single shot vaccine, but they have a study going to how much more effective it is with a booster shot.
After developing an mRNA vaccine, they decided to cancel their program.
I’ll note further that all the vaccine manufactures have been imdemnified for covid liability.
I read that at least this one is a traditional vaccine that does not mess with your RNA/DNA. Not that I plan on taking it. But it may be better than the others.
“That was quick. They just submitted it this week.”
The process has to go through several fixed hoops, but they could see from the Phase III Trial results that it was good, a couple of months ago.
Similarly, it now looks like Novavax and AstraZeneca will get authorized (EUA) in April. The Sanofi candidate will likely be a no go.
“I read that at least this one is a traditional vaccine that does not mess with your RNA/DNA.”
Yes it uses a traditional (decades old) approach. A known safe adenovirus is used, and they graft a characteristic spike protein from the COVID-19 virus onto it, so the immune system learns to recognize it.
So which one is it?
This is a new one - it will be the third authorized in the USA.
It uses a traditional approach, rather than the mRNA approach of Pfizer or Moderna.
With three producers, more vaccine will be available every week.
This new Johnson & Johnson vaccine is just a single shot.
It’s a good thing we didn’t have any treatments available that would interfere with this affirmation. /s
Wait for NovaVax if you must have one. No, I’m not an investor. Not mRNA, no connection with human fetal cell lines.
Only the J&J vaccine is conventionally derived.
The other two vaccines (including Merk) use RNA manipulation in their composition.
Feel fine today. New Hampshire seems to be administering things very well.
