He opposes Merrick Garland’s views on gun control and the death penalty, but Sen. John Cornyn of Texas plans to vote to confirm him for attorney general.

Confirmations should *ONLY* be a review of the qualifications of the person. Outside of the Supreme Court, I think the President should get their pick, Democrat or Republican, barring something truly disqualifying (a felony for example).

Garland didn’t even answer most of the questions asked in his Senate hearing. He just kept saying “I don’t know...”.
