The Merrick Garland AG nomination hearing shows Republicans at their worst: Establishment Republicans are back in play

Watching the line-up for Merrick Garland's confirmation votes on his nomination, I realized something today about politics in Congress. All Democrat politicians, whether famous or unknown, can reliably be counted on to vote a straight Democrat party ticket. Meanwhile, many Republican politicians, whether famous or unknown, can also be reliably counted on to vote a straight Democrat party ticket.

Merrick Garland, of course, is Biden’s nominee for Attorney General. Although presented as a “moderate,” he is anything but.

During the Senate hearings on Garland’s nomination, America learned that:

MORE CONCERNING THINGS ABOUT JUDGE MERRICK GARLAND:

* He seems to think there was a hitherto unknown bombing on Capitol Hill (if one doesn’t count the leftist bombing at the Capitol in 1983);

* He’s all-in on the existence of alleged “systemic racism;”

* He claims never to have thought about whether it should be a crime to cross into America illegally.

This is a man whom Republicans should oppose. Certainly, if the shoe were on the other foot, the Democrats would oppose him en masse ( but they won’t ).

McC probably has liberal guilt over blocking the awful Garland from the Supreme Court and is now trying to curry favor.

“a White Supremacist attack”

Isn’t that funny?

I thought it was about stealing the Presidency.

Can’t think of a single person who mentioned race as a motivation.

Funny that Garland does. Guess we know what his obsession is, huh?

One person carried a Confederate flag during the incursion into the Capitol on Jan. 6. As far as I know the person has not been identified or his motives clarified. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was an Antifa provocateur. Liking the Confederate battle flag does not make someone a white supremacist but it allows the media to call him one.

There is no "republicans at their worst." There are only "republicans." This is the new normal for the Repugnant Party and conservatives have no more voice in professional politics.

We had a voice, but the diseased and demented oligarchy forbade him from a second term.

Now, it's business as usual and the uniparty has gotten back to getting rich ....... at our expense.

They think they dispensed with Orange man (who they hate every but as much as dems do, and almost as much as they hate us) so they can go back to business as usual. They figure by election time we'll move on and they can play the old argument "Yes our candidate isn't perfect, in fact he's not really conservative at all BUT ... what are you going to do, vote for the democrat?"

I'm done with their "vote for us and the USA will go slightly slower on it's road to communism" platform.

Yeah, it’s probably equally likely he was ANTIFA or just stupid.

Lotta people carry the Stars and Bars just to show “rebel spirit”. But of course that plays into the Leftist meme of all Crakuhz beez Waciss.

Well, so what. Oddly they never seem to get upset about the hammer and sickle, an image that bears the blood of over 100 million murdered.

* He claims never to have thought about whether it should be a crime to cross into America illegally.

Merrick Garland is a train wreck, but point of order: Garland 'hadn't thought' about whether illegal border crossings should remain a crime, not whether it was a crime in the first place.

Never forget he is on the DC federal circuit, and AS SUCH as one point served on the FISA court (either advisory to Collyer or to CJ Roberts on the selection of the FISA judges who RUBBER STAMPED the illegal spying on US Citizens).

Merrick Garland is a FASCIST... a Statist STASI demonrat, pissed off he will NEVER be on SCOTUS and way past it. Given prosecutorial powers he will DUPLICATE the “Judge as Prosecutor” machinery that the appalling Emmett Sullivan did against US ARMY DIA former director Lt. Gen. Flynn!

This was a COUP— Flynn is free now— to expose Merrick Garland as well!

Send this to your Senators— Merrick Garland is a BIG F”ING NO! The man did not ANSWER Key questions for the Head of the DOJ and Chief Prosecutor of violations of Federal Laws— he doesn’t think they ARE Federal laws— illegal entry into the US is a FEDERAL CRIME! Period— no rumination needed as to prosecution.

So if crossing a border without inspection (that’s the actual phrase) isn’t a crime, does that mean Invasion is a civil right?

Ask Mr. Big Genius Garland that one. After all, it does say in the Old White Guys document (the Constipation) that the Fed Gov will “protect each of them against invasion...”

If 2 million members of the PLA show up in civilian clothes and demand to be let in, can they bring their guns too? After all, if they have the right of passage, what about the 2nd Amendment? Let’s not be stingy. Give them all the Rights. Including the ones that Garland just invented.

If you don’t have borders, you don’t have a country. And if you don’t enforce borders, you don’t have borders.

Garland is a mental midget.

Worse, they are in on the corruption and want to keep the money trains filled with cash for their Hunter Bidens to go out and collect and kick it up to them.

They are fake opposition and only say what we want to hear on the campaign trail so idiots like us will vote them back in.

Its all a scam

DC needs to be flushed

It could have been someone who is just proud of being a Southerner and oblivious to how it would be interpreted, but I think it is more likely to have been an Antifa type, given the way the Democrats immediately labeled the event as white supremacist.

Alexis de Tocqueville in the 1830s thought that racial prejudice was stronger in the free states than in the slave states. There may not have been much difference in the racial attitudes of white Union soldiers and of Confederate soldiers. After Jan. 1, 1863, the Union soldiers were fighting to end slavery as well as to preserve the Union, but they were not eager for the freedmen to move to the North.

That’s why the GOP will never be able to be reformed. I’ve been here over 23 years, and I’ve heard the same crap all those years that we need to get rid of the Rinos. The problem is, that at some point in time, they all become Rinos. The GOP is unredeemable.
