That's because the fools in the biden administration haven't got a clue what science is, and the fools in the media don't either. 'Science' is not a monolithic god containing the ultimate wisdom. In reality, 'science' is a process of theories, and experiments to test the validity of the theories. It is dominated by skepticism. There is NEVER any ultimate truth.
Foolish politicians say "trust the science" but they are really saying "trust me", and then they say things that are not scientifically valid. It is no wonder that there is confusion.
