Disagree on the weather. Lived there three times went through a few hurricanes and floods, as well as hellish humidity for most of the year. Some of us prefer a drier climate for our older age.
You’re right on the humidity... summer is ‘go to the beach’ or ‘sit in air conditioning’... the perfect solution is to have an apartment in the north to live in for June through September. That gives the best of both areas with no income taxes.
