They don’t want to be free, they want to be masters.
The ever ongoing purchase of votes.
Gettysburg 1864???
Reparations is a crock of sh##. More handouts
Slavery ended 156 years ago.
Segregation ended 60 years ago.
There is nothing left to reparate.
Nothing will ever be enough to satisfy the disgruntled self-loathing race pimps. Never. Whites should not even entertain the notion.
I've done the math for black reparations and clearly, they haven't thought this reparation idea through very carefully. Comparing black incomes in the US with those prevailing in Ghana, blacks owe non-blacks about $650 billion for each year since the Emancipation Act. I'll be happy to have the amount simply added to my SS check, thank you.
Reparations = divisive racial hate, jealousy, revenge, total lack of personal responsibility by blacks
At the rate the Mexican, Central and South Americans are immigrating, the American Blacks will be about 9% in a few years.
They will have little to no power to sway the new immigrants with social justice floggings that are the tools of BLM. They can try to integrate their demands into new “products” of anti-white sentiment, but with a diminishing white population, that will not work. There is definitely a clash between Blacks’ and Hispanics’ worldview.
I expect new demands from the newcomers, but on the whole, those I have met want to work, want to gain prosperity and want to believe they can achieve it.
The democrats, the left use the Blacks as a tool to gain and control power. They will have another group, far bigger than the Black population soon, and the demands of Blacks will be relegated to three months every four years before November 3.
The change in voting patterns was most notable in California’s affirmative action bill that was turned down by the majority minority.
The tide has turned for good or ill.
Rush described it correctly once - it’s “get even-ism!”.
My great grandfather was injured at Cedar Creek and Winchester at a time when he had 5 children at home. He contracted the measles during the war and was so ill that he was debilitated the rest of his life and died at 63 when my grandfather was in his mid twenties. My great grandfather’s wife had died 20 years earlier leaving him with 10 children.
My father was a bus driver and refused to enforce Jim Crow in the south. A few years later he was the manager of the Houston Bus Terminal and before the Civil Rights Act was passed, he shut down the “colored” waiting room and told the little restaurant in the terminal that he would shut them down too if they did not integrate. A bit later he was laid off and offered a transfer to anyplace north of the Mason Dixon line. We all ended up moving to Kansas. In other words, we were run out of town and the state. Maybe that’s not enough. I don’t think that there will ever be enough.
“...January 20, 2009, when racial tensions in this country were reignited, and all the progress that had been made was erased and pushed back decades. Such a shame too. America at that time was very close to achieving the colorblind society that Dr. Martin Luther King had worked so hard for...”
No truer statement has ever been made...
We’ve done our genealogy and also see no mention of slave ownership. Mostly a long line of blue collar workers.
Slavery really widespread among the populations in the south in that only 3% of southerners even owned slaves.
“January 20, 2009, when racial tensions in this country were reignited, and all the progress that had been made was erased and pushed back decades.”
His legacy lives on.
There can be no reparations. The wrong done cannot be undone. The push for reparations is designed to take all Whitey’s money, and then eliminate Whitey.
Where are the reparations for the whites who fought and died to free the slaves?
It will NEVER be enough for the liberals. Never. No matter what.
Well said!
My own 2nd great grandfather and his cousin - both Vermont VOLUNTEERS who joined the Union Army ( Company F, 10th Regiment Vermont Volunteer Infantry) when Lincoln called for volunteers in 1862 - returned from the war disabled veterans, my 2nd great grandfather's cousin having lost his left arm at a place called Winchester on 9/19/1864.
Neither they nor their ancestors ever owned any slaves.
What gets me is that the first (but not the only) legal slave owner in America was a black man named Anthony Johnson (1600-1670)! To whom is HE expected to pay reparations???

I'll just bet the "wokesters" running the "education racket" here in America aren't teaching this in their history classes!
