On Thursday, the National Health Commission issued a statement saying it will conduct research to “further stimulate birth potential.”
It said the initiative will focus first on northeastern China, the country’s former industrial heartland that has seen a major population decline as young people and families depart for better opportunities elsewhere. The region comprising the three provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang saw its total population decline for the seventh straight year by 427,300 in 2019 over 2018.
Authorities said last week that registered new births fell 15.3% last year to just 10 million.

Quick question though. How is it that Communism has not reached rock bottom with regard to stupidity even yet? Apparently there is no limit to how willfully ignorant a government can be either.
So, I suggest that, every year between the ages of 16 and 40, a woman’s social credit score takes a penalty unless she has a child.
If she has a child, she gets a big bonus to her social credit score and no further penalties for 2 years, at which time the penalty is renewed.
If the woman presents the state with four or more children she recognized as a Mother of the State, gets a big medal, a big bonus to her social credit score, a pension, and the social credit penalty is permanently waived.

Well, what did they think when they set a policy that refused permission for more than one child per family/woman? It was well known that abortions of female offspring was running rampant in China for several decades. I always thought it was ironic that couples who had a son in China were more likely to have no grandchildren. Duh!!!! it takes an egg from a female to make a baby. Couples with only a daughter, were more likely to have a grandchild!
I often think how terrible it is for Chinese boys when it comes to loneliness. No sisters nor brothers, no uncles nor aunts, no cousins. Few gifts for their birthday! And then when they grow up, no wives and no children!
