Some Democrats said Cruz should resign from office.

What hypocrites!

Where were they when newsome was out having dinner with friends for a celebration while locking down the rest of the state?

Or pelosi is out having her hair done?

Or that governor who ordered shelter in place and then his wife and kids went and flew to another state for a private family vacation?

The examples are endless of democrat hypocrisy.

Who in that state in the midst of the power outage didn’t go somewhere else if they could?

RE #17, that's a good one.

Cruz is going to have any real involvement in this for a few months at the minimum, if any at all.

Not a single person died because he went to Cancun. But I agree with you. It’s about optics, especially for Republicans and conservatives. The sooner our side accepts that optics are important the less damage our side will self inflict.

So what was John Cornyn doing while Ted Cruz was staying toasty in Cancun (for a day)? Did anyone ask what Beto was doing to help out the folks? This is typical piling on by Democrats to take the attention away from the Harris/Biden administration's multiple failings. Cruz shouldn't apologize - he didn't do anything wrong. Sounds like a few jealous Texans wish they had the resources to go off somewhere to thaw out. It's Texas! It'll be in the 60's and 70's by mid week.

It's not like he jetted off on a lobbyist's private plane and stayed at an exclusive resort all on their dime. Even Senators get breaks!

We’ve lost Texas or are close to losing ut.

Actually, I saw a headline - something like "While Cruz is in Cancun, Beto is handing out supplies" or some such blather. I didn't even bother to read it.

I quite agree with you.

POTUS always had simple, logical solutions to everything he touched.

I can’t imagine that he would not expeditiously get to the bottom of the finger- pointing, separate the truth from fiction, about what exactly went wrong in Texas, and send disaster funds to help kick off a resolution to the cause(s).

It sounded to me like Gov. Abbott was Red Hot to tick off statutes requiring annual winterization and disaster preparation standards that practically guarantee that Energy needs in Texas won’t be failing the state say time soon.

Trump could swing by Texas and whip that issue all over the state, until it turned into oil, and the people will force that Legislature to get it done. 🤠

Many here see this as a big deal, fine.

I'm not exercised about it.

The Dems will tie this to him forever, however.

GOPers are always held to a much higher standard.

Nonsense. Texans aren’t going to suddenly vote for queers and steers because Cruz went to Cancun 2 years before his re-election campaign.

I find it fascinating that a lot of conservatives are buying into the hole media crisis around a storm. Cruz failed.. There are numerous times in the Northeast there are people without power for weeks. Texas needs to find its collective ball sack and quit trying to blame Ted for failed policies, choices and mother nature doing what it does..

what would anyone here have done differently if they were in this situation?...

If I was Cruz I'd send an aide or bodyguard to Cancun with the family and stay in TX & be visible so as not to give the Dems an easy target.

At least half of votes cast are based on emotion and appearances, not logic.

I had to go to the end of this thread to find a post that reflects reality. Who the hell turned this board over to the damned liberals?

This has nothing to do with the thread beyond an attempt to divert attention from this created non-story that closet lefties are using to deflect attention from the evil Biden Adminstration.

This is exactly right. What was the issue(s)/criticism with Biden or his Administration just before this article appeared? Does anyone remember? This is what THEY (liberals and MSM) do very well.

Difficult to watch, as one must also endure the pompous nature and sheer rudeness of Donahue.
I forgot what an unadulterated ass Donahue was...and at the time I was too young, self absorbed and uninformed to realize. So grateful I eventually “woke up” (God now you can’t even use THAT phrase w/o sounding like a lib)
Thank you for posting this most joyful video....joyful because we get to see the Master tame one of the nastiest “commentators “ and expose the left to their smug, condescending faces live and in person. God I miss him.

Exactly. Piling on in this case is sour grapes. I was thinking about my state and concluded that a U.S. senator staying home during a disaster makes no difference at all. Now a STATE senator is different, in case there needs to be am emergency session or some such, he/she needs to stay home.
