Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) responded to allegations that he flew to Cancun, Mexico, in the midst of record cold temperatures and snowfall in Texas—which has been besieged by power outages over the past several days.
Cruz appeared to confirm that he went to Cancun, saying that “with school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”
“My staff and I are in constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas,” he said in a statement on Thursday, referring to the power outages and, in some cases, loss of water.
Yep, says 'State Work Week' for February 15 to the 19.
Look a girl playing with a soccer ball:
There really isn’t much Cruz can do during a situation like this.
Now the real question is why no one has heard a word out of Biden on the Storm and Texas . Nothing, he’s had one long Lid Day all week.
Trump would have been on top of this and already been touring places and getting help. Joe, well he needs 18 hours of sleep per day tp function.
Now wait a minute....Biden sent 60 generators (LOL) and blankets. I suppose Doctor cough cough Biden sent cookies.
That’s the 2019 calendar.
“Demented Joe is employing his campaign strategy; hide and let the media run cover, which isn’t hard with Cruz acting this dopey”
Ya
The Senate is not in Session.
I would like to play soccer with that girl.
Cruz is s US senator, not a Texas state senator, no real dog in this fight other than he's elected by Texans. We have a Governor, Lt. Dan (as I call him), a legislature and whole host of state agencies working on this issue.
I know Mexico is a $#!+hole country but they do have cellular and internet service there so pretty much anything he could do here, he could do there. He doesn't need a nighttime helicopter tour to see the darkness first hand.
Sick of snowflake, so-called conservative freepers criticizing our team every time they perceive a wrongdoing by our side. Texans and all people in general and conservatives in particular should be prepared for these type of events instead of crying to government for help when they occur.
Did he fly from Texas or DC? Was he even in Texas? I thought they were all in DC?
If he was in DC or even if he wasn’t, was he supposed to “ heroically” fly(or stay “in”) to Texas and harrumph and harrumph flailing his arms around? I want to know what some of the Dems were doing?
BiteMe took a early lid today. And right on schedule the DNC media bring out the Cruz fake scandal story as a distraction from BiteMe being AWOL. And some gullible fools on our side help give it legs and legitimacy.
“I want to know what some of the Dems were doing?”
Beto is out doing wellness checks. Of course he’s trash and it’s BS, but optics matter to the dumb masses.
At the top it says the Senate is NOT in session on these days......and further research says Senators are free to do what they want.
Between the electric grid collapse and Cruz trip, Texas will never be a red state ever again.
“Why isn’t this Biden’s Katrina?”
Exactly!
And the left is thrilled that everyone here is blaming Cruz. When he had nothing to do with any of the decisions that ERCOT has made. Biden has more blame, he’s the green energy pusher.
Was he even in Texas or DC when he flew out? The stories aren’t clear.
I’d rather that he stay in DC and keep an eye on ol’ droopy drawers Biden, Schumer the shill,Pulseless Pelosi, Kumquat Kamala, and Mack the “McConnell” knife!
“Was he supposed to show up to walk the power lines with a big wrench, hard hat, and high voltage suit?”
Yeah..... and a portable heat gun to thaw out all the frozen components that should have been winterized after the 2011 fiasco.
Ted gets paid to represent the citizens of Texas in DC. You can label it ‘virtue signaling’ that he darts off on a trip to Cancun when many of the citizens he represents are experiencing the deep freeze and power issues.
Don’t you think better judgement would have been to do what he can with his position during this event instead of heading off to Cancun? He’s a public official and not a private citizen.
And not just soccer!
So you're saying that Senators have about 22 weeks vacation a year? Nice work if you can get it.
