Last summer, the rain fell gently while I sat on my back deck, listening as it tapped on the canopy and splashed on leaves that shimmered in the gray of the morning. My thoughts were scattered as they often are, thinking about too much at once, when suddenly I felt drawn to pray. My thoughts stilled, and one word came to mind: Rush. I closed my eyes to the watery shadows of the morning and cried out to the Lord for Rush Limbaugh in his fight with cancer. As the words tumbled from my lips, I couldn't stop the tears from falling, so I just let them fall with the rain.
Yesterday, the tears fell again when I heard the heartbreaking news that he had died of complications from lung cancer.
I don't know why I was compelled to pray at that moment many months ago, but God's Spirit was moving me as clearly as the rain dropping from one leaf to the next. I prayed for Rush and his family — for strength in the face of treatment, peace in the midst of fear, comfort in a time of sadness, and healing if it was God's will. I felt, in that moment, the prayers of many joining with me. God was gracious. Rush survived his battle for many months — precious time spent with family and friends, time I'm sure he didn't think he'd get.
Like many others who have listened to Rush since he went national with his radio program in the late eighties, I grieve the loss. He was a vibrant presence in my life — in all our lives — so much like a friend or family member, because he was with us every day on those radio waves.

Rush is no longer in pain and each of us can remember him fondly with a smile for the countless hours we spent with him and the wisdom we gained for it.
Think of how many people are conservative today because of Rush. It’s astounding. I have several friends who became conservatives because they began to listen to him decades ago and they remain true today.
A life well lived and screw the haters. If the measure of life is how much you were loved and cherished or how much you changed the world around you for the better it is hard to imagine a wealthier man than El Rushbo.
“The liberal world has always hated Rush, of course. But that only made his voice stronger & more valuable. They accused him of misogyny, bigotry, homophobia, & racism, but every day, he rose above it all, laughing in the face of slander, remaining steadfast to his calling & never forgetting who he was. Liberals didn’t define him. RINOs didn’t define him. Jealous malcontents in the media didn’t define him — & they still don’t. Only God defined him — & God gave him a voice for these times & courage to persevere. He was a gift to us & no one will ever take that legacy away — not now, not ever, because it’s fixed in our hearts & in our minds.”
Wondering.....
Presumably Rush and those vested in his show had discussions concerning the W3’s of his shows continuation. Wondering what it will look like....
Probably the closest person to matching Rush in terms of humor and presentation is Steven Crowder. A little more raunchy in terms of language, though. I don’t think Rush ever swore.
I will miss Rush, many times I waited to hear his take on some event in the news. Sadly he was here for the fall of America to the Marxists
I’m thrilled for him. In the hands of our Lord. No better place. The second we’re born, were destined to die.
I’d vote for Andrew Wilkow.
“for the fall of America to the Marxists”.......if you payed attention to Rush......
it aint over till its over
They cant replace Rush. He cant really be replaced. It would be like losing George Washington. Nobody can really fill his shoes. We lost a great patriot.
Our dear, dear pastor from when we lived in CA is hours/days from losing his fight with cancer. He loved Rush! With just a few days between, maybe they’ll be “processing in” to Heaven together.
Such an immeasurable sorrow for this country with his loss!
He is at peace. he has done our country a great service. he will be missed greatly.
No great people like Rush will never be replaced.
I’ll always have my wagon hitched and keeping an eye out for trouble along the way.
Thank you, Denise. I rejoice that God made me turn on WABC at 10a on 7/1/88 and I got to hear him first on the East Coast. I am also thankful that I watched the Dittocam on 2/2/21. Full circle. The Lord works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform...
I payed attention, fixed elections’ corrupt Congress,DOJ,FBI, SC, FEDERAL COURTS, ATF, DHS, IRS, IC, whats left?
W3s? What is that, please?
Who, what and when would be my guess.
Thanks, I think you’re right.
