AUSTIN (KXAN) — Thousands of people who live in Austin are without water Thursday, and there has been no word from the City of Austin when the water might return.
KXAN reached out to Austin Water multiple times ahead of the city’s planned 2 p.m. news conference looking for answers but still has not heard back.
Austin Water tweeted about the issue around 9:30 a.m. but still has not said when it might be able to resume water service to those areas affected.

Austin went woke and their pipes broke.
water water everywhere ....can I get a drink of water Sir?
The predicted high in Austin for Saturday is 54. Expeced to be 73 by Wednesday.
The pipes will thaw.
Many of us live in places where this is a pretty common event. You’ll be all right. Don’t let the media scare you. As always, they know fear gets ratings and sells papers.
Austin? Love it when lefties get a taste of their own leadership.
Just melt snow.
Stay away from the yellow snow though...
Dems run the place, it’s the new normal.
When the pipes thaw is when the bursting will really start.
True “snowflakes” in Austin. I lived there all thru the 90’s. It is, without a doubt, the belly of the beast for liberalism.
It’s not just Austin. Houston and Dallas are losing control too.
I take it you’ve never experienced your pipes freezing and then thawing? Many of us in the northern climes have that happen frequently. Every winter for some.
Honestly, you’ll be okay.
If only Ted Cruz was in Texas right now this could all have been avoided!/s
When the pipes thaw that is when the problems start. Frozen pipes don’t flood your house.
Water mains are usually deep enough that it takes an extended period of cold to freeze them.
Unless they don’t put them very deep in Texas.
They’re bursting all around me in the streets, massive shutdowns.
Well, at least Ted Cruz is back and not enjoying himself... sarc/
Where are you at?
pretty sure these people would tell you that you dont know what you are talking about.
yes, some pipes are fine...but others arent

DFW area.
Good time to be a plumber in Texas.
I know this is miserable. We lost power for a week a few years ago (I live in a climate just below Canada), but for the most part we were equipped and prepared for it even though it was very cold. I was worried about my pipes, but we managed to keep the house above freezing despite single digit temps.
Our grid is most vulnerable to wind or ice storms, but for the most part our utilities are prepared and disruptions are minimal.
