For a Convention of the States dedicated to Georgia’s application language, which would re-balance citizens’ rights versus federal power and state power, the count is 15 down, 19 to go.

For a Convention of the States dedicated to a balanced budget amendment only, the count is 30 down, 4 to go.

While I appreciate the fervor with which folks push this thing,
folks getting involved and all, in a climate where the U. S.
Constitution is being flowted across the board, this is a very
foolish time to get crafty.

There’s no telling what will be tried, and what our current
SCOTUS would rule on any challenges.

We couldn’t get a clean election. We couldn’t get judges
to look at the problem in real time. We now have a Marxist
government looking to pounce.

All this is unConstitutional. Now we’re planning on claiming
the Constitution determines this and that.

LMAO

Next folks will tell me we can have all this, and a slightly
used Brooklyn Bridge to boot.

I trust those state legislators and municipal bosses and their most favored, paying constituents, because they're more against federal pork than anyone else.

[Gigantic pool of irony and sarcasm vomitous there. After an Article V convention, public school teachers and state bureaucrats would be given individual discretion over public execution of private sector people. Abolish public education and other wrongful programs receiving federal funding through the states, and I'll believe a little more in pursuing such a convention.]

It's not clear from the text of the Constitution that the request for a convention can be limited as such, or once the critical number of 34 legislatures is met, that it can be rescinded. Article V is silent on these topics. What is clear to me is that this is the only way to reign in the Swamp. Typically, when the call for a second constitutional convention gets close to the required number of legislatures needed, Congress jumps in to lead the parade and offers an amendment itself. A constitutional convention is a kind of super legislature which becomes the rival to Congress, and Congress fears it.

We badly need a constitutional convention now to fix the rigged elections, term limits, and other "good government" issues. At this point, it isn't just a Republican Party issue. Independents and Trumpocrats will join this movement if it is done properly.
