France passes bill to counter rise in Islamism - Act calls for stricter surveillance of religious associations

France passed bill to counter a rise in Islamism. The legislation did not single out any particular religion, but it cracked down on practices such as forced marriage and virginity tests

France's National Assembly on Tuesday approved legislation designed mainly to counter a rise in Islamism in towns and cities which the government says threatens national unity.

It included tough measures against online apologists for acts of violence, stricter surveillance of religious associations, and tighter restrictions on educating children outside mainstream schools.

..Presented to parliament on the 115th anniversary of the law that enshrined the separation of state and religion in France, the bill has been branded by some on the left as an attack on Islam and as too weak by the far-right and some conservatives.

France is at least 3 decades too late with this.

Soon, the Eiffel Tower will be condemned and destroyed because it possesses some sort of negative religious connotation.

And, barely a peep will be raised in protest.

France? I find this questionable at best. More likely a cover for the same old reason. Kill Christianity.
Bidens forever masked policy is very islamic. Tons of people are still getting covid.. wearing masks.
A viru loves a moist warm mask to relax and multiply on. If covid had a beach life.. it would be on a mask.

The churches have been objecting to this law because they think, probably correctly, that it will be used to surveil and control Christian churches. The government has a firm policy of “ Laïcité,” or secularism, which in practice means eliminating Christianity and any Christian influence.

Furthermore, the French are famously antisemitic, so it will probably be used against Jews too.

Muslims? I doubt that it will affect them in any way, despite the supposed purpose of the law.

No, France under Macron has been very, very serious about stamping out Islam. And Le Pen is gaining in popularity

forever masked policy is very islamic - no, it's not. Islam doesn't make it mandatory for MEN to be masked. Truly speaking in the Quran and Hadiths' its related to the OT about women to cover their hair. The Salafis made is stricter - so beyond a hijab (covering hair), it went to niqab (the black bags) and to the burkha (niqab + eyes covered by mesh)

Needed more — stricter surveillance if the pro-Islam educational system.

France is at least 3 decades too late with this.

Yup. Mark Steyn called it with America Alone, among other works.
