The 20 Greatest Quotes From Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh was one of the greatest figures of the last half-century and he could personally take credit for millions of people becoming conservative. He was a legend, an icon and he will be missed. In honor of a great man, here are Rush’s 20 greatest quotes.

20) “The liberals, you see, do not want to confront conservative ideas; they just attack conservatives as a group, and particularly their motives. If you believe what they say about us, you would think that if someone like Bill Bennett, or Jack Kemp, or myself were driving through South Central Los Angeles and looking at the slums and poverty, we would go: Oh, man, this is great – they’ve got nothing, so that means we get more. It’s simply preposterous. We all want to live in a great country. And for the country to fulfill its potential, you need individuals to be the best they can be – not the government taking care of people.”

19) “For government to give, it must first take away.”

18) “The people that make this country work, the people who pay on their mortgages, the people getting up and going to work, striving in this recession to not participate in it, they’re not the enemy. They’re the people that hire you. They’re the people that are going to give you a job.”

17) “Now, what is the left’s worldview in general? What is it? If you had to attach not a philosophy but an attitude to a leftist worldview, it’s one of pessimism and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they? They’re always angry about something. No matter what they get, they’re always angry.”

16) “I’m a huge supporter of women. What I’m not is a supporter of liberalism. Feminism is what I oppose. Feminism has led women astray. I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it.”

15) “Liberals always exempt themselves from the rules that they impose on others.”

14) “Bigot: A person who wins an argument with a liberal.”

13) “Liberals measure compassion by how many people are given welfare. Conservatives measure compassion by how many people no longer need it.”

12) “Conservatism is an active intellectual pursuit; it requires constant vigilance. It has nothing to do with feelings. Liberalism is the most gutless choice you can make. You just see suffering and say, ‘Oh, I feel so horrible!'”

11) “I’m convinced that a lot of people simply don’t know what’s available out there and how it is possible to find a job and work your way up if you are willing to accept responsibility for your life. I know what it’s like to be on the bottom. I’ve been broke. I’ve been fired seven times from jobs. And I don’t even have a college degree. But I didn’t blame anyone else for my problems. I knew that if I didn’t try to solve them on my own or with the help of friends or family members, no one else was going to take care of me.”

10) “I’m not opposed to the protection of animals. But the best way to do that is to make sure some human being owns them.”

9) “Morality is not defined and cannot be defined by individual choice.”

8) “No nation has ever taxed itself into prosperity.”

7) “End results that work that don’t involve government threaten liberals.”

6) “Let me tell you who we conservatives are: we love people. When we look out over the United States of America, when we are anywhere, when we see a group of people, such as this or anywhere, we see Americans. We see human beings. We don’t see groups. We don’t see victims.”

5) “In a country of children where the option is Santa Claus or work, what wins?”

4) “The world’s biggest problem is the unequal distribution of capitalism. If there were capitalism everywhere, you wouldn’t have food shortages.”

3) “Progress is not striving for economic justice or fairness, but economic growth.”

2) “You know why there’s a Second Amendment? In case the government fails to follow the first one.”

1) “What about feeling sorry for those…who pay the taxes? Those are the people NO ONE ever feels sorry for. They are asked to give and give until they have no more to give. And when they say ‘Enough!’ they are called selfish.”

I think he’ll be remembered by his fantastic and highly original one-liners...

“Talent on loan from God”
“Half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair.”
“Chopadickoffame and Addadicktome operations”

And far, far more.

Quite a few of those I never heard him say. Perhaps they’re from one of the rare days I didn’t listen. Or perhaps I forgot, also possible. Listened since about ‘91.

My thought is that if it were not for the broadcast career of Rush Limbaugh, would there have been a Donald Trump Presidency? He educated America on Conservative ideas, principles and values.

The amazing thing is that these are taken from hours-long, extemporaneous monologues, delivered day in and day out for over 30 years. The Limbaugh Museum will be studied by future historians who want to know what the American spirit used to comprise.

My favorite was always the one about feminists:

Limbaugh: “Feminism Was Established So As To Allow Unattractive Women Easier Access To The Mainstream Of Pop Culture”

If you don’t know Jesus as your savior, then today would be a good day to take care of that. Rush knew Jesus as his savior. Now Rush is with Jesus in heaven.

The only...one and only...path into heaven is by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

You don’t have a body with a soul inside it. You have a soul with a body. When you die, your body is left behind, but your soul lives, forever. And it is either destined to heaven or to hell. One or the other. Immediately upon your physical death.

Most folks want to go to heaven, but are unsure if they will make it. You can’t earn your way into heaven. None of us are good enough to qualify.

Those who accept Jesus as their savior are qualified by Jesus, through His mercy. That’s the only way into heaven.
Rush knew this.

Those who have accepted Jesus as their savior are 100% sure they are going to heaven. Christ and God never take away your salvation, once you have received it. You have committed no sins which cannot be forgiven, no matter how bad you or anyone else thinks they are. Jesus always says, “Yes, my child, you are forgiven.”

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Jesus also said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Jesus also said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Jesus also said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.”
John 11:25&26. You will never die when your soul goes to heaven. You will live the life of the damned, forever, when you die without knowing Jesus as your savior, as your soul will go to hell.

Accept Jesus as your savior right now, if you have not already done so. It’s as simple as truthfully saying this short prayer (these aren’t magic words...you can use your own words to convey the same meaning): “Confessing to God that I am a sinner, and believing that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my justification, I do now receive and confess Jesus as my personal Saviour.”

I won’t be able to give a direct quote but one thing Rush said that always stuck with me was when a caller asked him why the republicans in Congress always to turn into wimps and let the Dems do whatever they want. Rush explained that all those congressmen have wives that want to get invited to the nice parties in DC and that meant going alone with the liberals. That you wouldn’t get treated well on television if you were an actual conservative.
It makes so much sense that even years later it’s the first thing I think of when I see the news with some new GOP politician being a total puss as soon as they get elected.

I’ll throw some up that I’ve heard him say from memory.

“They can’t win if they don’t cheat”

“The media was screaming about those oil fields that Saddam blew up, saying that they would take years to put out and decades to clean up. The damage to the environment would last for a generation. See, there’s this thing called, “Rain.” it’s this wonderful stuff that falls from the sky, and it cleans up the particles of pollution in the air when it does.”

“Charlton Heston told me: “Rush, I have been married for sixty years. And the secret to making it work is this. Learn these six words, and use them often: “Honey, I was wrong. I apologize.””

On that note, everyone here should go buy his books, and buy them for your friends. They really get to the heard of what a great American Rush was.
