“While he was brash, at times controversial, and always opinionated, he spoke his mind as a voice for millions of Americans and approached each day with gusto,” the former president added. “Rush Limbaugh was an indomitable spirit with a big heart, and he will be missed.”

GWB knows it was Rush’s hard work and his followers which gave him the win in 2000 and 2004.
At least he BETTER know it.
Rush was a good friend to the Bushes and vice versa. I believe Rush was as sickened as we were over the last decade as the truth came out that they were not truly aligned. I believe Rush likely continued to like them personally but was taken back at their commitment to the statists.
GOP voter views have changed dramatically over the past decade. The article Rush discussed frequently about the political class vs the country class was likely a pivot point for him. It was clarifying for me as well. I learned that and so much more from El Rushho.

That is true. Rush that helped Bush a LOT. I remember very well how much the media hated Bush. Rush was a strong supporter of Bush (I was too).

Any praise he gives Rush must be 'balanced' by criticism for mainstream consumption.
