The very green Germans have major concerns regarding their dependence on renewables:
‘Die Welt’ Commentary: “Europe Can’t Bail Out The German Power Supply”…Calls Strategy “A Dangerous Miscalculation”
Germany has seriously overestimated how much its neighboring countries are able to help out in the event wind and solar energy fail to deliver, thus putting its power supply at risk.

Little attention is paid to the question of just how much "climate change" is a result of human activity, i.e., CO2 emissions into the atmosphere resulting from the burning of fossil fuels. Does anyone have a handle on this?
A comparison of tropical temperature trends with model predictions
ABSTRACT:We examine tropospheric temperature trends of 67runs from 22 ‘Climate of the 20th Century’ model simulations and try to reconcile them with the best available updated observations (in the tropics during the satellite era). Model results and observed temperature trends are in disagreement in most of the tropical troposphere, being separated by more than twice the uncertainty of the model mean. In layers near 5 km, the modelled trend is 100 to 300% higher than observed, and, above 8 km, modelled and observed trends have opposite signs. These conclusions contrast strongly with those of recent publications based on essentially the same data.

No wonder they call your basketball team - THE PHOENIX SUNS. :)
When your socialist leaders take policy advice from a 15 year old dropout like greta, and dim-wit like AOC, you have to expect "miscalculations".
Oh, and by the way, depending on russia to supply your oil is insanity also.
Green energy is crap.
It only exists to allow liberals to feel smug.
It never saves money, always fails, has terrible environmental consequences and always leaves a disposal problem for the waste. But, liberals keep pushing it as they wait for the Earth to self destruct in their minds.
The whole strategy of attempting to model the climate was a fatally flawed idea. It’s a dynamic system with too many variables (including some we probably don’t even know about), so it’s futile to try to construct an equation that will predict how the system will evolve beyond the very near future. That’s why weather predictions can be quite accurate but long term climate predictions are always far off, because we can’t predict all the little perturbations in the system that multiply over time, only how the bigger components of the system interact in the short term.
A better strategy might be along the lines of the comparison at the bottom of the article, taking the flawed model predictions, and the actual historical data from the same period, then giving both data sets to an AI and let it use machine learning to try to make better predictions than the model alone can do. It’s not a clean or pretty method, but it would probably quickly become much more accurate than the current methods we are using.
Problem is, our weather is attracting the wrong kind of domestic immigrants.:)
Germany voted themselves into the dark ages long ago.
Tree huggers can’t even bring themselves to admit where the other end of that battery operated car charge cord is connected to....it seems common sense ain’t so common nowadays.
I’m beginning to believe “Dominion” has been a great global asset to communists/socialists for a long, long time.
Really a win-win for environmentalists. Get rid of people and get rid of demand for energy, which they regard as an assault on Mother Gaia. Environmentalists don’t really like people.
So essentially Germany’s strategy was to go “green” all the while relying on dirty energy from neighboring countries when it couldn’t produce enough energy to meet its own demands. And that’s how eco-fascism works.
IIRC, solar/wind can only contribute about 15% of energy without the downtime consequences we’re seeing. Building out capacity/storage for erratic energy sourcing costs the same per unit, despite diminishing returns.
People who make dangerous miscalculations are are great object lesson for the rest of us; if only we were wise enough to learn the lesson.
Who could have seen this coming?
Imagine how wonderful things will be when all cars will be electric.
That’s the California model: go green and rely on importing 30% of your energy from surrounding states.
Lieber Gott, es ist kalt!
