Sunday in the wake of former President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment acquittal, former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) discussed the GOP’s identity with Trump no longer in office.
Flake, now a CNN analyst, warned the GOP would remain in a “permanent minority” if it continues to follow Trump. He doubled down on his belief that there is “no future with Trumpism.”

The stupid part of this is, if Flake or a similar Republican could get more votes and win there would not be a Trump candidate, but the fact is, Republicans like Flake are getting rejected by Republican Voters....and yet, people like Flake want to break away from the will of the voters which makes no sense...
Flake is typical of most Republican politicians, No vision, no core philosophy. An empty suit, wanting to get along. No tolerance for conflict and no backbone to stand and fight for anything. His answer to conflict in the political arena is compromise, and that failing, capitulation. Always looking for the easy path.
Apparently he believes demographics is destiny. So what does that mean for Flake? Apparently not reaching out to new audiences with a message the woke CNN anchors don’t like. He ignores the success of Reagan and Rush Limbaugh in creating millions of new conservatives through reasoned dialog and persuasion. He ignores the fact Trump received more votes in 2020 than any Republican in history. He ignores the fact Romney and McCain went down to defeat with the message he espouses. He also ignores the fact he is unelectable in his home state which is why he retired.
Someone ask Flake for what principles he is willing to risk his possessions, his life and his sacred honor. The answer is evident. Nothing.

The people who showed up for Trump, in mass crowds, are not interested in people like Flake. We are not interested in “Democrat Lite”. We are not interested in just a slightly slower path to socialism.
We have tasted Trump-style MAGA, and will no longer settle for less.
You are correct about flake on many things. what flake represent is the type of candidate the parties put forward so they can control. Flake is the typical politician you end up with in the Senate because of the 17th Amendment. Flake is a perfect example of why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed
Too much power and control is concentrated in the political parties. Flawed, controlled candidates are the result. Kelly Ayotte is another, Nikki Hailey too.
They do not represent the state capitals of ideas of the States they came from...
Many years ago I had high hopes for Flake being a Goldwater disciple but he turned into a real disappointment as a senator so no surprise he is bashing Trump now.
