The executive committee of the Republican Party of Louisiana voted on Saturday to censure Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) over his vote to convict former President Trump for inciting the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol.
"The Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Louisiana has unanimously voted to censure Senator Bill Cassidy for his vote cast earlier today to convict former President Donald J. Trump on the impeachment charge," the party said in a brief statement.
Cassidy was one of seven GOP senators who joined Democrats in voting to convict Trump for "willfully inciting violence against the Government of the United States."
The Louisiana Republican tweeted on Saturday that he voted to convict because "Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person. I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty."

The professional Republicrats don’t give a crap what you and me think about them. They give you/me/Trump the finger, then ride off down the road getting money right and left coming straight from China, funneled through Donahue and the USCC. Their loyalty is to the money. Carrying the “R” label is merely a minor inconvenience to them until they “retire”.
Cassidy sought, received and touted the endorsement from President Trump. After being elected he stabbed the President in the back. He has the qualities that will take him far in the GOP leadership.

Doctored evidence. Saw Trump’s lawyer saying these dirty house managers should be looked at for doctoring evidence. Cassidy supported that. Really stupid.
The answer is not a lifetime career but term limits and a ten year ban on being a lobbyist.
Cassidy may indeed be around for the next six years but he’d better be careful whenever he returns to Louisiana. More than a few of those boys down there don’t take too kindly to a guy who stabs them — and stabs their families — in the back. Even though he’s a scoundrel of the the worst typ, I offer this advice as a public service to a U.S. senator.

What people in Louisiana should do is to sign up for the local Republican committee. Yes, we might have disagreements on some issues (homosexuality, etc. Nothing major), but if we get fiscal, America loving conservatives to run, we can take back the GOP. We let others (people who didn’t have America’s best interests at heart) run the party, now we NEED To take it from them!!
