We’re living in Fellini movie. The Capitol trespassers were not under the command of Donald J. Trump. It’s insanity to claim that he had an affirmative duty to tell them to stand down... when he has no authority over any of them. He can no more command them than he can command the pandas in the Beijing Zoo.
Because in the middle of a speech he was supposed to stop and make a tweet to the Antifa terrorists to stand down, and they would? DC is clearly in an alternate reality.
So, is this plan X or Y to get rid of Trump. Wouldnt they have to have a new articles of impeachment?

Multiple hearsay. Not to mention that her statement has been available for over a month. Why didn’t the House Managers present her statement in the case in chief?
Sounds like President Trump spoke the truth. Why that would justify impeachment I have no idea.

So the “evidence” that they want admitted is an out of court statement by a Democratic congresscritter that another congresscritter told her what Trump supposedly said on the phone?
Interesting trial tactic for the prosecution to try immediately before closing arguments are set to begin: “We never conducted any discovery, so we want to take some depositions now.”
OK, so Dems want to convict Trump of ‘incitement of insurrection’ by pointing out something he didn’t do.
One is tempted to respond with sarcasm and mockery.
Herrera Beutler was one of the 10 GOP Representatives that voted along with Liz Cheney to impeach Trump.
So there is no surprise here.
The Senate just stipulated that Herrera Beutler’s recall of her conversation with Kevin McCarthy will be admitted into evidence.

As usual, President Trump was speaking the truth.
And the quote from Rep. Beutler was edited when read into ‘evidence’ to leave out Trump replying it was ANTIFA rioting, not his people.

So the rioters already inside the US Capital were “incited” by a private phone conversation between McCarthy and Trump?

The Democrats knew it was hearsay.
They just wanted a fuss to tell the American people that there may have been a problem.
This event is not to discover the truth.
The Democrats know the truth.
They know that President Trump is not guilty.
This farce is being conducted to gain political advantage.
Every Democrat lawyer involved in it should be ashamed.
But, it’s about maintaining the Democrat Party’s access to the public treasuries so that they can loot them.
