As usual, President Trump was speaking the truth.
Dang. I was really hoping Deep State would be dumb enough to take the bait and call witnesses.
Nuts.
The dems overplayed a weak hand. If they called witnesses the defense lawyers would call a lot of democrat leaders and tie up the running of government for months. They let this hearsay phone call in just to speed up the process. Trump will be aquitted and look for a storm from him.
And the quote from Rep. Beutler was edited when read into ‘evidence’ to leave out Trump replying it was ANTIFA rioting, not his people.
Perjury, plain and simple. Use of official office for personal gain.
So the rioters already inside the US Capital were “incited” by a private phone conversation between McCarthy and Trump?

The Democrats knew it was hearsay.
They just wanted a fuss to tell the American people that there may have been a problem.
This event is not to discover the truth.
The Democrats know the truth.
They know that President Trump is not guilty.
This farce is being conducted to gain political advantage.
Every Democrat lawyer involved in it should be ashamed.
But, it’s about maintaining the Democrat Party’s access to the public treasuries so that they can loot them.
They didnt want to have Pelosi testify..she was told in advance that trouble might happen, the Trump Administration wanted 10K national guard troops, she refused, why..I think we all know why
Good point. Unless McCarthy was refusing to corroborate the story, he would be the one they would be calling as a witness - not his staffer.
Also, let’s say Trump really did say “Kevin, it’s not my people”, and McCarthy really did say “yes it is”.
In that case, Trump’s alleged retort; “Then I guess they are more upset with the election than you are” - was obviously rhetorical, since it is entirely inconsistent with his first statement that it was not his people.
They have no case even if the conversation really happened.. which I doubt.
Exactly, but in this kind of trial it is accepted evidence.

We all know the Republicans wanted President Trump gone so they could get back to stealing our money. We need to form a movement to start electing people who aren’t politicians. We need to elect more people like Donald Trump. I know there is only one Donald Trump but we need to elect good Americans like him. I would vote for a garbage man over any current politician as long as he’s intelligent and patriotic. Those are two qualities missing in DC politicians.

Perhaps executive privilege? This is not a real impeachment; it’s givernment-paid-for political group therapy for Trump haters.

This Senate trial is the second time Democrats have used the US Congress to display their blatant contempt for the intelligence of everyday Americans. The accusation that Trump incited an assault on the Capitol is absurd on it’s face, as has been the so-called reporting on the (fraudulent) election returns. The simple truth is that Democrats stole the election and they conspired to turn Trump’s January 6th rally into an attack on the Capitol.
Trump incited no ‘insurrection’ and anyone with the brains of a kumquat and a 6th grade education in civics knows it. Yet, Dems rush heedlessly into the national spotlight to reveal their undisguised and unrepentant infamy.
Given the non-stop illegal and malevolent campaign of lies, deceptions, and false flag operations against Trump and the American people who support him, Democrats and their media accomplices fully deserve to be exposed for the criminals they are and indicted for treachery against the Republic.
