Closing arguments at former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial were expected to get underway Saturday morning — with each side granted two hours to make their final case to the US Senate before an expected vote on the verdict later in the day.
But Day 5 started instead with House impeachment manager Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) asking to subpoena records and call a witness sparking fierce debate with Trump defense lawyer Michael van der Venn.

There may be a rule calling for a vote to call each witness, one at a time. If that is a the case, Trump might have a hard time getting witnesses. Probably won't matter in the long run; but I can see some senators, on both sides, getting tired of this crap.

Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, the Senate‘s second-ranking Republican, said Friday he’s open to censuring former President Donald Trump, as the impeachment trial of Mr. Trump nears a vote for acquittal.
“I’ve seen a couple of [censure] resolutions at least that I think could attract some support,” Mr. Thune said of his Republican colleagues.
Asked if that includes him, Mr. Thune replied, “Yes.”

If that’s his reason for voting aye, then what was his reason for voting no? He changed from no to aye in the time it took to call the roll.
That’s OK. What they are doing as an overall process is not permitted under the Constitution.

Now we know why Graham voted for witnesses.
War Room just broke that a Pence aid came out and said that PDJT knew about Pence’s life being in danger and did nothing to help.
The group setting up PDJT is McConnell, Graham, and Pence. Graham just found out this aide was going to say this so he quickly changed his vote to have witnesses. 90% chance this aide will be called as a witness.
He changed when he knew the dems won the vote. I think he is still on trump’s side......
But it would do no good if simple majority decides who gets subpeoned and what witnesses are allowed.
