Police have named a 29-year-old graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a Yale University student last weekend.
Qinxuan Pan, who was last seen at a hotel in North Haven, Connecticut is being sought for questioning in the death of 26-year-old Kevin Jiang.
Pan “is not a suspect at this time,” New Haven police chief Otoniel Reyes said at a Wednesday press conference.

“According to Pan’s Facebook page, he studied computer science at MIT and lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His Facebook page notes that he currently works at CSAIL-MIT (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory) and is originally from Shanghai, China. At one point, according to his profile, he lived in Maryland.”
