Invention-minded people need to pioneer combination refrigerator / heat pump technology in conjunction with home building design to help keep living space warm and food cold during winter.

I don’t have a problem with green energy that is truly green.

Something that does not pollute to be made, that produces more energy in its life than it took to make it, and something that produces enough electricity to meet the demand.

Work on it. Have at it.

Until we have it through, do NOT curtail the use of the only things that work, nuclear and especially fossil fuels.

We can’t abandon fossil fuels until we have something with which to replace it fully. And we don’t.

Depending only on solar and wind power is stupid. There is not enough energy being produced to supply the needs of a civilized society. Plus the amount that can be stored for nighttime use is pitifully low. So, with solar and wind, you will freeze in the dark.

The problem is that it does not work.

Not on any large scale and on a small scale the system needs constant adjustment and repair.

Well, the laws of thermodynamics already make every refrigerator a heat pump as well. You would just need a huuuuuuge refrigerator to heat the average house.
