Not just generating capacity, transmission.
>>There is no such thing as renewable energy.<<
Entropy.
Learn it.
Love it.
ow many companies are developing EV Harvesters, Combines, disc cultivators, etc etc?
Gonna get mighty hungry.
In discussions with my sister and my “woke” adult children most of whom view themselves as being among the coastal elite and not beholden to flyover country. The vaunted “green new deal” relies heavily on nuclear power. Their claim is the safety issues have been solved by new technology and that energy source is what will make up the shortfall between wind and solar production and the current level of “fossil fuel” generation.
This was quite a revelation to us baby boomers who remember well how rabidly opposed the left was to nuclear power. To the point that they bankrupted LILCO by refusing to allow the Shorham plant to open on LI. That turned out to be part of the left’s master plan as that area is serviced by a government owned and run outfit
The governments own estimates are that. 8000 charging stations (with 3 units each) are needed to service just 7 million cars. There are almost 240 million passenger vehicles in America. Then factor in that charging will take about 30 minutes instead of 5 minutes for a tank of gas. Want to spend half your day in an EV charge station lineup?
Still More #ComDem_Insanity!
Not just in terms of generation, but the distribution lines have to be able to carry the increased amperage for load demands. And properly sized transformers, and metering, and secondary cables...
Until they solve the range issues and create a charging infrastructure it’s all just a bad joke. I wouldn’t mind driving an electric car if it had the same range and convenience as a gas car. But they flat out don’t yet.

There is a good reason why I pay no attention to “oilprice” articles.
How much did your panels cost, installed, without subsides?
What you are describing is not what I have seen, and I live in Arizona.
morgan stanley will collapse from its own stupidity before the internal combustion engine is equal to the buggy whip.
This is absolute myopic tunnel vision.
giddap! the eealty distortionists are really “fkyibg” until they hit rick bottom
You have to realize these so-called analysts that work for Big Banks such as Morgan Stanley are no different or no better than the hedge funds that got a massive beat down from the GameStop situation. They’re just talking heads with an opinion they really don’t have any facts just agendas, which generate market movements which equals money for them..
Uh, sure. Not sure . What’s your point?
Any house can be run off of solar power if they don't use much energy.
For example, you do not mention air conditioning or heating.
a great resource page. have noted headlines from just the last 3 days:

Biden has already made moves to reverse that trend.
His executive orders to stop Fracking and his moratorium on leases of federal land for oil and gas exploration is going to drive up the cost of energy across the board and electricity in particular.
That is the best response when talking to the green cult. No amount of fact will convince them otherwise. Any discussion on the topic will lead to a trip through the Wonderful Land of Oz or Wonderland.
I would love one of them to explain how wind and solar will produce the tar to make asphalt. I would also like one of them to show me alternative energy producing the material to make itself without the use of oil. Mining the raw materials, transport, manufacturing and then deliver the windmills, solar panels and other devices, Now that would be interesting to see with out the use of oil.
Garbage 🗑 “yo energy cost gona sky rockit “
I’m in North Yorkshire, in the UK. It’s midday, currently -2 degrees and cloudy... And right now it is generating 1,670w. It hasn’t hit peak yet; that’s well over 4kW and we won’t get the full benefit of that until after the spring equinox.
The system is comprised of 12 410w Canadian Solar panels, a Sofar HYD 6000 inverter, and Pylontech US-3000 battery which is charging from solar.
We’ve got the washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier and electric fan oven on right now so are using 2760kw. Stick the cooker on too, and we might hit 5.5kw.
The total spend was £8k but that included a partial house rewire with 16 energy monitoring plugs, critical load split, voltage optimiser to stabilise the grid input, Evohome multizone heating controls, and a Raspberry pi which I use to control and monitor the entire stack.
And the cost of the scaffolding for a week, as we had some roof repairs done at the same time.
No grants or subsidies.
