What Trump said early in his speech:
Now, it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you, we’re going to walk down, we’re going to walk down.
Anyone you want, but I think right here, we’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them.
Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated.
I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.
What Trump said in closing his speech
So we’re going to, we’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I love Pennsylvania Avenue. And we’re going to the Capitol, and we’re going to try and give The Democrats are hopeless, they never vote for anything. Not even one vote. But we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones because the strong ones don’t need any of our help. We’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.
While it is useful to help educate others in both directions, lets not loose sight of the focus. Trump did not incite this riot. It was preplanned. And #16 along with this cohorts could help shed some light on it.
People should try to think less with emotion when it comes to politics. Presidents are all egotists you have to be to crave that much power. They have a persona that the people see, but that is not them. There were two Presidents who what you saw was what you got, Jimmy Carter and Donald Trump. After 8 years in office the only way to clean up the Obama mess was for a pit-bull to take office. People who wanted a kinder gentler GOPe type, have no understanding of the mess Obama left in DC. Too many 2020 voters got all caught up in Trump's personality and their feelings. People who claim to be Christians either did not vote or voted for the abortion President because they did not feel Trump was a nice man. Screw feelings.
‘Lose’, not ‘Loose’.
(And ignore the ‘it’s’, which should have been ‘its’, in one of my previous posts. I’m not perfect, either.)
But as much as you think you have ‘facts’ which need to be known, everyone here who has been paying attention already knows or suspects them. Nobody here thinks that Trump ‘incited’ anything.
But you’re not going to make a lot of friends by suggesting that he’s a chauvinist, bigot and bully. You obviously can’t see past the hard-nosed New Yawk businessman, to the Man himself.
He may have a rough mouth sometimes, but he’s one of the most sincere and genuine people I’ve ever seen in high office, and he’s far more concerned about the welfare of the average American than most of the scoundrels in Congress are.
Youve seen it plenty of times. Antifa stormed the whitehouse. Democrat groups stormed the capitol many times over the years. What Trump said is boiler plate rhetoric. NOTHING he said can be “incitement.”
OldBoat I really do appreciate the candor. It made me laugh. So here I am... plain as day... saying Trump could not have incited the siege on the capitol because it was pre-planened, and I provide evidence wrt #16 on FBI most wanted list, and you want to focus on locker room talk. OK. I can respect that.Have fun with that. With all due respect, I will stay focused on why Trump should be acquitted.
>> but never in my life did I think I would see such a thing. At an emotional level the House Manager’s video is damning. All those people wearing Trump hats attacking Law Enforcement Officers is a disgrace. My God it was hard to watch.>>
Video was spliced and diced to match the narrative and it looks like it did what it was supposed to do...
I wonder if all those in Trump or Red hats are Trump supporters?
want to see something hard to watch?
Chicago police release video footage of protests at Columbus statue.
Be sure to keep the sound on. From 1:00 to the 7 minute mark.

Damnyouautocorrect Sorry, no disrespect meant. That should have been OldGoatCPO.
That video is indeed hard to watch. I have many friends that are in Law Enforcement (local, state, federal, and capitol).
Right, and that is the point. The house manager diced and spliced the video so show specific segments instead of showing the raw video. He should have include the part where Trump said “peacefully” but he choose to ignore it.
Spliced videos are all part of the game. There’s no requirement for a prosecution case to bend over backwards to be impartial. That’s not bothering me.
What does bother me is the focus on pattern of behavior to go with the creative process - that EVERYBODY on Trump’s side is just ignoring.
The prosecution narrative is, Trump was talking about a stolen election this time last year with absolutely no way of knowing that the election result would go against him. At the time he was slipping in the polls but he was still way ahead of Biden.
They argue he was ramming that message home all day every day for the entire duration of the election season in order to set a foregone conclusion:
“The only way Trump can lose to Biden in November is if the election is rigged”.
If Trump had won in November all talk of a steal would’ve stopped overnight and Trump would not have questioned the outcome.
If Trump did NOT win on the night, it was absolutely guaranteed that Trump would immediately reject the result, insist the only possible explanation is “STOLEN ELECTION”, and mobilise his base to intimidate anybody from the tellers to the state governors into overturning the count.
So, the prosecution case hinges not on what Trump said and did on the day in January, and not even on the presence or scale of the steal...
But on the premise that Trump’s own “Stop The Steal” messaging over a 9 month period proves deliberate orchestration - in other words Trump conspired to overturn the election result if he lost, under ANY circumstance. But not by his own hand... Rather, by getting a bunch of loonies to drink enough look aid to do it for him.
A fair example of incitement might be, “arsonist spends months telling theater patrons that a theater is a fire trap that’s going to burn down, with no evidence of anything beyond his own desire to see it burning; he eventually pledges to go to the theater with his most fervent supporters who’ve decided the only way to prove their faith in his warning is to start the fire themselves, but decides to stay at home and LOLs as his patsies start the fires themselves.”
The short word for that gaslighting process culminating in a mob action, is incitement.
Incitement is not about shouting fire in a crowded theater. It’s about warning of the fire AND rigging the fire AND priming other people to light the match.
If Trump’s defense is entirely based on “unconstitutional charge” and “You’ve creatively edited the January 6 speeches, Trump asked for peaceful protest” it is doomed.
The defense has to debunk the idea that Trump spent almost a YEAR planning and executing that incitement, all the way through the primaries and the election.
The defense must rebut that accusation.
As if donning a Trump hat makes someone a Trump supporter. Someone needs a dunce cap.
Thanx. almost Alamo-ish...
shows how scary organized antifa is...which puts me in the group that thinks antifa was mostly behind the Capitol “riot”.

Regarding activity at Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, anti-Trumpers still haven’t addressed my posts questioning what is argued to be a costumed Antifa member being given a personal tour of Senate chambers by Capitol building security guard.
Senators at that time were probably in Joint Session of Congress in Hall of House of Representatives watching Pence count electoral votes.
