A majority of the people arrested for Capitol riot had a history of financial trouble

Jenna Ryan seemed like an unlikely participant in the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. She was a real estate agent from Texas. She flew into Washington on a private jet. And she was dressed that day in clothes better suited for a winter tailgate than a war.

Yet Ryan, 50, is accused of rushing into the Capitol past broken glass and blaring security alarms and, according to federal prosecutors, shouting: “Fight for freedom! Fight for freedom!”

But in a different way, she fit right in.

Despite her outward signs of success, Ryan had struggled financially for years. She was still paying off a $37,000 lien for unpaid federal taxes when she was arrested. She’d nearly lost her home to foreclosure before that. She filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and faced another IRS tax lien in 2010.

Nearly 60% of the people facing charges related to the Capitol riot showed signs of prior money troubles, including bankruptcies, notices of eviction or foreclosure, bad debts, or unpaid taxes over the past two decades, according to a Washington Post analysis of public records for 125 defendants with sufficient information to detail their financial histories.

It's amazing how the mainstream media can investigate every aspect of conservatives but never do exposes of liberals.

Seattle Times.

Didn’t Seattle have their own little disruption thingies going on the last 12 months? Have those miscreants been identified arrested and convicted?

"a Washington Post analysis of public records for 125 defendants with sufficient information to detail their financial histories."

Of course people "with sufficient information to detail their financial histories" will mostly have "financial trouble". Why else would there be "sufficient information to detail their financial histories" available? More proof that the Com Post is not staffed with the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Are they claiming these people were doing this for money? On a payroll?

Who’s paying for the private jet?

I am surprised that someone on FR with the proper resources hasn’t done a thorough background investigation on those arrested. I haven’t seen but a handful of names and only a few descriptions.

It’s not rocket-science.

Antifa is composed almost entirely of government school teachers, social workers and underemployed lawyers who were so smart they buried themselves in six-figures of student loan debt for $30,000 a year jobs.

They are pissed and they are looking for someone to blame because they aren’t honest enough to blame themselves.

Gee, Todd, they can’t ALL be financial geniuses like the peaceful protestors who burned down all those businesses in Minneapolis and Kenosha and turned Seattle and Portland into “autonomous zones”.

If they had financial problems, it means they are liberals. Good that they got arrested. Throw the book at them. Max their prison sentences.

Yep- dems were participating in the riots.

Lets see their records on child abuse, child abandonment, nonpayment of child support, rapes, murders, bankruptcies, liens, GED dropouts, unpaid parking tickets, unreturned library books...

You would think they’d go and investigate the Antifa crowd....to find they have mostly no debt, but also no job.

Why isn’t more being made of the reasons WHY people felt compelled to attend? First of all this was a grassroots call among Trump supporters to gather in D.C. to protest a stolen election by the Uniparty. Trump learned of it and planned a rally ahead of the march and teased that maybe he would march with them but was convinced not to by his advisers. I watched his rally speech knowing that if things got out of control later his speech would be blamed. I was happy when he said nothing that could be construed as incitement. As for why people attended: the immediate reason was the stolen election that all of officialdom refused to address, prefering to let the media choose. But it was also the straw that broke the camel’s back. Trump and his supporters have been under siege since he and Melania came down the escalator at Trump Tower to announce his candidacy. January 6th was the culmination of 5 years of illegal campaigning, fraudulent investigations proven but ignored, massive media campaigning, vile name calling and superficial impeachments that say more about his tormentors than him. Unaddressed grievances were as much to blame as overzealous supporters and agent provocateurs. These truths will not be addressed by Congress but should be. 74 million people are being ignored and marginalized as the Uniparty seeks to prevent Trump from disrupting their gravytrain in 2024.

They are protesting being put in financial distress by the establishment’s program to subdue and humble America.

refusing to pay your income taxes isn’t “financial trouble”, it’s political protest.

Now you know more than you thought. It all adds up. Financial difficulties and a promise to remedy the woes for a little service. Bet if you dig further back you might find out she was a plant.

The majority of BLM/Antifa/Saint George Floyd himself/Etc were stellar financial specimens.

Not to mention the Bidens themselves.
