Just leave
Just stay. We don’t want these dirty Democrats and their politics in FL or another red state.
“I see you have some money there. Give it to me.”
Maybe the turn the vacant trading pits into gambling casinos.
Contractor:”Hate to say it but I won’t really charge you much for remodeling. Looks fine now.”
Several years ago when Goblowabitch was gov. here he wanted to institute a new tax on trucking companies based in Illinois.
Several trucking execs visited him and reminded him just how mobile their businesses were. Goblowabitch rather quickly changed his demostupid mind.
Please move
Tax ‘em til they bleed. They will never leave. Until they do, instantaneously.
The NY pols figure it’s all bluster and posturing by the NYSE and in years past it probably would have been but I don’t think so now. I think there may be a better than even chance they move their corporate domicile and servers to Tennessee or Florida. Time will tell but if I were a NY legislator I’d be concerned.
NYSE becomes NOTNYSE
Sure, why not? Everybody from New York eventually moves to Florida. Just change the name to New Yorker Stock Exchange and no-one in Florida will bat an eye.
NYerSE
RE: Just change the name to New Yorker Stock Exchange and no-one in Florida will bat an eye.
What about FLSE? The Florida Stock Exchange?
Better still, the FLOSE ( Florida Stock Exchange ). FLOSE is pronounceable.
New Yorkville (, TN) Stock Exchange?
NYSE sounds nice, though.
Florida Exiled Electronic Stock Exchange?
New York Stock Exchange Threatens to Leave New York City Over Transfer TaxHEY! wait a minute.
We're always told by experts, like Hannity that corporations don't pay taxes. That they're all passed on (like magic) to the consumer.
So why would the stock exchange suddenly worry about themselves having to pay taxes?
So why would the stock exchange suddenly worry about themselves having to pay taxes?
Hannity is right they are passed on to the consumer.
They do not want to pay taxes because when the cost to the consumer goes up the consumer trades less. The NYSE makes money when people trade stocks. If the number of trades goes down, so does their revenue.
NY politicians tramping on their crank once again!
If the exchange leaves, guess who else is going to leave?
