Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) on Tuesday panned the arguments made by former President Trump's legal team, saying that House Democrats made a more compelling case that the impeachment proceeding is constitutional.
"I said I'd be an impartial juror. Anyone listening to those arguments — the House managers were focused. They were organized. They relied upon both precedent, the constitution and legal scholars. They made a compelling reason. President Trump's team were disorganized," he said.

Well except if you can read at the fourth grade level the constitution is pretty clear. Only a sitting president can be impeached. Even Compromised Roberts couldn’t be blackmailed into attending.

Cassidy must be auditioning to be a Miss America Judge.
If Cassidy actually read the Constitution he would not need an argument from either side to reach a judgment.
I am telling everyone. We have to start voting Democrat. It is not enough to sit out the general election because these RINOs have comfortable margins.
We have to change the tide. We have to actively vote and work against them. Even if that means we have to work for Chuck and Nancy.

Unfortunately, Cassidy just was elected and will not face a primary opponent for 6 more years. Given the lack of people who are able to remember what happened last week or month, his vote today will not make much difference in 2026.
The Senate does not decide what is or is not constitutional.

I think you are being far too critical of Trump.
Keep in mind that there are more RINO lawyers in practice today than MAGA lawyers.
Do not forget the number of highly placed lawyers who opted to not represent Trump because these lawyers did not want to upset their Corporate Clientel.
The Dems and GOP are on the same team- in case you have not figured that out just yet.
