The broadcaster also offered a loose interpretation of yang, writing, "Men show 'the spirit of yang' in bearing, spirit and physique, which is a kind of beauty, but 'the spirit of yang' does not simply mean 'masculine behaviour.'
" In recent years, as the country has sought to bolster its military and reckon with pampered children, mostly boys, born under its one-child policy, a more stringent idea of masculinity has emerged.
Television censors have blurred the pierced ears of male pop stars. Well-groomed actors have been publicly derided as "little fresh meat," and parents have enrolled boys in boot camps, hoping they will become "real men."
The Education Ministry's plan is in response to a proposal made in May by Si Zefu, a top delegate of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Standing Committee. Called a "Proposal to Prevent the Feminisation of Male Youths," Mr Si's proposal said that "many, many more" men should be hired as physical education teachers to exert a "masculine influence" in schools.
In a statement, Mr Si said the prevalence of female teachers in kindergartens and elementary schools and the popularity of "pretty boys" in pop culture had made boys "weak, inferior and timid." He also lamented that boys no longer wanted to become war heroes, warning that such a trend could endanger the Chinese people.

Wonder if new born boys in ChiCom land got some special shots to minimize their male hormones, about 2-3 decades ago.
Maybe those shots were too effective.

They were clearly largely introduced to American male children of liberals.
This is the most unmasculine American generation ever.
Clearly.
Future wars to be fought online in Call of Duty.
...AND the American generation most exposed to marijuana...
He also lamented that boys no longer wanted to become war heroes...
The fact that most war heroes are DEAD doesn’t seem to
have penetrated his thoughts.
The fact that those children likely had relatives that
died during the cultural revolution or great leap forward
shouldn’t effect them being good Maoists...
When hand-shaking was allowed, Asian men (those from Asia, not American born) shook you hand like a women.
I like Chinese.
I like Chinese.
They come from a long way overseas,
But they’re cute and they’re cuddly, and they’re ready to please.
I grew up in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s...... My High School teachers sat on the hood of their cars in the teachers’ parking lot and smoked weed between classes.....
The culture was pot smoking then..... Way less now...
Haven’t been to china but Taiwan boys are the same. I think it is from their high soy diets. and lack of exercise.
The guy in front- what’s he holding onto, a dildo?
Meanwhile, in the country formerly know as America, parents are enrolling boys in boot camps, hoping they will become “soy boys.”
Somewhat different in the 50s re smoking. We gave our 5th grade teacher a carton of cigarettes for Christmas. She was most appreciative. “My favorite brand!”
Or in World of Tanks/Ships/Planes
I want to beat the shit out of all of them.
They got what they ordered, a generation of weak tits...
Eww, that’s disgusting.
Grew up in same era but that must have been a different type of high school than mine. The algebra teacher was a Korea Vet and everyone was scared of him. Used to show pictures from the war front that he had taken himself. A whole lot of bodies frozen in the cold.
The female teachers could have given the Catholic mother superior from “The Blues Brothers” nightmares. They were all friends with the male shop teachers and would call them in if the youth got too rowdy.
And then there were the two former Green Beret sgts who ran the JROTC.
I personally do not remember anybody fun in my high school.
