Super Bowl 55 kicked off Sunday with recording artist Alicia Keys singing the so-called black national anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” along with a poem.
Hitmaker Alicia Keys was tasked with a virtual performance of the 121-year-old spiritual song that has come to be known alternately as the “black national anthem” after being introduced in 1899 for Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. The poem read in 1899 was set to music in 1900.

Halftime show is the closing event at the BLM convention.

And the white refs are picking on the black KC Chief defenders with interference calls.
Maybe some Rick, Kool & the Gang, Bee Gees, and wrap it up with Cameo’s Word Up...
My 1st thought when I saw it, my 2nd was there is almost more people in the 1/2 time show than in the stands
But it looks like the Ref is going to get the most valuable player award in this super bowl.
Watched the first half.... not good.
Half time show appears to demonstrate an intentional and complete lack of diversity from main performer all the way to stage extras and field dancers.
I was going to watch the 2nd half, but I guess it is only for black nationalists. Will pass.

I have a relative who is “ liberal” with TDS. He prefers “ moderate” politics. He likes everything on a even keel- & no one making political waves in politics. Its impossible to engage with him so I just keep my mouth shut.
If he is watching 2 nite he got a BIG SURPRISE and he doesnt like surprises like this- it upsets his applecart of rigid ideas and fixations, so I’ m quietly laughing .
As far as my opinion goes on the Superbowl opening ? someone needs to nip this in the bud like YESTERDAY.
Why not any other “ anthem” from any ethnic groups here in the US ? Blacks do not own football any more than Eskimoes and Asiams.

Actually 13%, but watching commercial advertising you would swear it’s at least 50% and interracial marriages were the rule rather than the rare exception.
I am so out of touch, I didn’t recognize any of the songs, and even couldn’t make out the words.
