Super Bowl 55 kicked off Sunday with recording artist Alicia Keys singing the so-called black national anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” along with a poem.
Hitmaker Alicia Keys was tasked with a virtual performance of the 121-year-old spiritual song that has come to be known alternately as the “black national anthem” after being introduced in 1899 for Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. The poem read in 1899 was set to music in 1900.

My father wanted to watch it, then the announcement of $250 to BLM and systemic racism came on, and I started surfing FreeRepublic and AmericanThinker on my phone.
The downside: now he has to go meet Joe Biden (with Kamala at his side) at the White House.
Probably not. Is it any good?
Probably Mahomes and the rest of the team too.
I hope he refuses.
Just like all those who wouldn’t go when Pres. Trump was in.
I did watch that dumpster fire half tine show with the selfie cam in some back room of the stadium and messed up audio. The excuse I have heard was that the half-time show is produced for a teenager or early 20 audience, basically even a millennial is too old for it now.
Brady should go out on top and retire now as the greatest QB of all time. He will never top this moment again.
The last halftime performance I thought was worthwhile was Tom Petty's 2008 appearance. Even then, I sort of wondered how that white boy from Florida was selected.
I really think he wants to go after Blanda’s record, maybe even make it to playing at 50. Why not, if anyone can do it, it’s Brady.
Biden “ Congraduuulasions to the Patriots and George Brady”
“Now back to The Button” “All zystemsss go”
Did they also play the real one? Or was it only the black one?
It would be even funnier if he calls him Mike, Greg, Peter or Bobby Brady (characters from The Brady Bunch).
Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid, the son of head coach Andy Reid, admitted that he had been drinking prior to the multi-car accident that took place right outside the team’s practice facility Friday night, leaving a 5-year-old child with life-threatening injuries.
According to the police report from the accident, Reid said that he had two or three drinks prior to the crash. Police also said that the assistant coach’s eyes were bloodshot and they could smell alcohol on his breath. The accident took place just after 9 p.m. on Thursday on Interstate 435 near the Chiefs’ practice facility.
Two cars were pulled over after one of them ran out of gas on the highway, so the second came to help. A 4-year-old and 5-year-old were in the backseat of the second vehicle, which was hit with Reid’s car along with the first. The 4-year-old did not sustain any life-threatening injuries, but the 5-year-old did, according to the police report. ..."

Yes...a duet of National Anthem..it was odd...didn’t SEE any kneelers...think they are trying to avoid them now.
I thought Bruno Mars in SB 48 was good. Springsteen and The Who in 2009 and 2010 IIRC was good.
Almost everything since than has been an over produced disaster.
Could of been the Purple Anthem for all I know. Didn’t watch. BOYCOTT.
I actually thought it was pretty good. At first I wanted to change the channel.
I heard they were blasting applause over the stadium’s speakers (PA system) for effects.
I overheard somewhere that my old hometown team is in it. Still won’t watch a single second of it. I couldn’t care less!
.....”the NFL has become a full-fledged BLM establishment”....
So has Hollywood.
