Biden ends Trump asylum deals with El Savador, Guatemala and Honduras

The Biden administration said on Saturday it was immediately suspending Trump-era asylum agreements with El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, part of a bid to undo his Republican predecessor's hardline immigration policies.

In a statement, State Department Secretary Antony Blinken said the United States had "suspended and initiated the process to terminate the Asylum Cooperative Agreements with the Governments of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras as the first concrete steps on the path to greater partnership and collaboration in the region laid out by President Biden."

The so-called "safe third country" agreements, inked in 2019 by the Trump administration and the Central American nations, force asylum seekers from the region to first seek refuge in those countries before applying in the United States.

Part of a controversial bid by Trump to crack down on illegal immigrants from Central America who make up a large part of migrants apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border, the policies were never implemented with El Salvador and Honduras, the State Department said on Saturday.

Truly disgusting. Deals that Trump worked so hard to put in place are being obliterated by the stroke of a pen!

Wow.. These people have the highest murder in the world.! They live their entire lives behind walls and concertina wire. And they are among the highest country's in the world for kidnapping.. Their children have become nothing more then a commodity.. Maybe you got enough money to buy your kid back, and maybe you don't.. And it's all coming our way..

hardline immigration policies>>>>>>>>>>>>

Buahahahahahaaha!

They were mnot hardline. They were the normal policy any nation would have to secure its norder,

Reciprocity is a commnn principle in International law.

You help me with our borders , we help you.

Now what is effing hard line about that?

BTW, you try just crossong the border and seeking asylum in Mexico.

You will spend months if not years in a Mexican jail. Try doing the same into Canada. You will be scheduled for a hearing and then sent home. meanwhile you will cool your heels in jail or under house arrest.

BORDERS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

Nations have to have them to be nations.

And what we have in Washington is a tyrannical regime who wants to wage demographic warfare on red states by dumping populations of covid infected immigrants into them.

This is not about so called “hard line” immigration.

Its about a federal government waging war on its own people.

Who defines a policy as hardline?

I think Biden’s policy is hard-line.

When Biden’s family is attacked by MS-13, do not expect any sympathy from most of us.
