Former President Donald Trump‘s defense at his Senate impeachment trial next week will include videos of Democrats encouraging violence, one of his lawyers said Friday.
The clips would counter videos that Democrats likely will show of the riot at Capitol and Mr. Trump‘s fiery speech at a rally shortly before the attack on Jan. 6, which Mr. Trump stands accused of inciting.
Trump lawyer Bruce Castor told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham “you can count on that” when asked about using video montage of Democratic members of Congress calling for violence against Trump administration officials and law enforcement.

Why pretend he did anything wrong? That is a terrible defense, he did nothing wrong with his speech. ARGUE THE FRAUD!

It's a trial, but it's also a political exercise.
Of course, politics itself is now a joke because of voter fraud.
It is not his entire defense, but I think it is important to do this. It demonstrates the obvious double standard. Their comments pale in comparison to anything Trump said. He did NOT call for violence. Many of them did call for violence when protestors were at the gates of the White House (and lit the church on fire).
I even think they should show the declarations about using National Guard to secure the White House compared with what we see now.
I like this. I also agree that they should argue the fraud, but read their articles of impeachment. This comparison goes directly to the accusation.
True but it's almost certain he won't be convicted anyways. This whole thing is a perversion of the impeachment clause and is just playing political games. Trump's just playing their game.
