Travelers who violate the federal transportation face mask mandate could receive fines ranging from $250 to as much as $1500 for repeat offenders, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced in an update on Friday.
This press release from the TSA also noted that “substantial aggravating or mitigating factors” may result in a recommended fine “outside these ranges.”
The TSA first announced the implementation of its mask requirement on Sunday in response to President Joe Biden’s executive order targeting COVID-19 protocols in domestic and international travel.
Part of the order includes the requirement for travelers to wear face masks in airports, bus and train stations, and on all other forms of public transportation.
“TSA has provided transportation system operators specific guidance on how to report violations so that TSA may issue penalties to those who refuse to wear a face mask,” the TSA update read.

DoD just implemented policy today. We work in a cubicle farm and were told unless you have a private office and are alone with the door closed, you have to wear your mask ALL day...even at your desk. I told the superintendent “good luck with the enforcement on that!”
Sitting in the Charlotte airport food court next to a table of TSA ‘agents’ and had never heard a more foul mouthed bunch of abject retards in my life.

There are places that have been masked since February and it’s made no difference.
Got to recover that $1,400.00 stimulus money plus a hundred dollar bonus for the state.

TSA jobs wouldn’t go away even if every last airline went out of business.
They are government employees. They get paid whether they have anything to do or not.
It’s not just that you don’t wear a mask either.
No Gator type masks. My friend flew today she has a latex allergy and can’t use disposable or anything with stretch loops.
They told her gators are also in defiance of the order.
The fine for smoking indoors is about 250.
If they can keep you from smoking inside in order to “protect” others, the mask thing isn’t much of a stretch.
Maybe if you say you took of the mask to smoke, you can get the smaller fine.

You wouldn’t believe the crap they gave me for bringing a shofar (horn) thru security from Israel. When I finally explained what it was and gave them a history lesson...they were quite interested. 😆
