A bill in Mississippi to prevent biological males from competing in female-only sports is making its way through the state senate, marking another state taking action in a cultural and legal battle over biological boys crushing female athletes in the name of equality.
The bill, called the Mississippi Fairness Act, is sponsored by state Sen. Angela Burks Hill, a Republican lawmaker also known for her pro-life legislation.
Hill has introduced the Fairness bill for several years only to watch it die in committee but now the legislation, known as Senate Bill 2536, has passed two committees and is now up for debate on the senate floor.
Dr. Jameson Taylor of the Mississippi Center for Public Policy predicts the legislation will pass before February 11, the legislative deadline, because it is a “common-sense bill” on a topic that has “broad support” from the public.
Hill Taylor points to a poll of Mississippi voters, conducted by Mason-Dixon, that found 79 percent said they would support a state law banning biological males from competing against females.

Plus, they’re trying to lick democrat boots right now to avoid any packing of the court.
Lol
Because reality counts
I used to coach girls soccer in Mississippi and I can tell you that the boys team in high school would crush the girls 30-0 if they played. The boys are lightning fast, aggressive, and focused on objectives every time.
The girls were good, but just slower, not as focused, and they tend to blame themselves and mope when they misplayed, while the guys would just get back on the horse immediately and start the fight again.
The two sexes are completely different physically and mentally.
Agreed. Can you imagine basketball teams playing each other?
If I self identify as a cop can I pull cars over and give them ticket?
If I self identify as a congressperson can I sit in the House of Fools and make laws?
What's the difference between the above and 'self identifying' as a girl?
People can self identify themselves as anything they can dream up - but they don't have the right to force acceptance of that delusion on me.
By their own votes and liberalism. Reap it...
ONLY 65%. SHAMEFUL FROM PEOPLE WHO CLAIN TO VALUE EQUALITY.
That's exactly right. I'm not sure what "refusing to accept that delusion" means in the context of high school sports, though.
Real women vote more D than R.
Real women caused POTUS Clinton, Obama and Biden.
Real women were fine destroying our military.
It’s their turn to get crapped on.
The sum of 2+2, and 3+1 are equal, but they are not the same.
Makes me glad I'm old, have two sons, and won't be having any grandchildren. My sister-in-law voted for Biden. I hope she's happy with the fact that boys and men can now complete against her two granddaughters.
This court is worthless. Can't wait for Biden/Harris to pack the court.
It means people can ‘self identify’ themselves to be anything - but the rest of us don’t have to ‘play along with the delusion’.
These young men are NOT girls.
A girl doesn’t have to self identify as a girl because she IS a girl.
If I self identify as a bird does that make YOU responsible for providing an outdoor bird bath? As Biden would say, ‘Come on Man’....
“...biological boys crushing female athletes in the name of equality.”
The problem I have with any of these efforts to sway sports toward single gender or both sexes competing is it is already one way only. With the entry and massive publicity of women crossing into historically men’s sports, it has widened the gap concerning gender segregation further by a one way direction...pro female.
Prior to the level the bill is addressing, boy and girls already compete together in sports like little league baseball. But boys are not allowed in girls’ amateur, now also called little league, softball. The same in many areas with youth basketball and volleyball. And this didn’t become an issue until the advance of women into men’s historical sports like football at the college level. There are women in professional baseball but no men are allowed in pro softball. Women have competed in the NBA to make the clubs, but were cut. In the NHL, Manon Rhéaume was a Canadian ice hockey goaltender who
in 1992 signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL, appearing in preseason exhibition games in 1992 and 1993. (Publicity) She spent five years in professional minor leagues, playing for a total of seven teams and appearing in 24 games. Never was promoted to the big club.
The intention of the bill is to stop men from entering into women’s sports. But the problem with the bill is that it is written as no male can compete against a female. So just as soon as a female wishes to compete with the men, the men have to withdraw. End of program. And to write the bill where it determines women can play and men can’t in a gender relationship, they have just violated Title X which was created to produce equal funds for gender related sports. So women are not shut out of men’s sports from the youth to the highest level.
But doesn’t it then become female sports dominant even more than the male dominance the original actions were taken to. Women were allowed the playing of all sports. Men were allowed the playing of certain sports. If this bill passes the way it is written, then men can be totally shut out from any sport any Mississippi college provides just by a woman wishing to play it. Foolish.

Courts have already ruled that the state can compel various leagues to allow girls to compete with the boys. Why should boys be prevented from competing in girls sports leagues? Why even allow any leagues to be biologically specific? We’re all equal with similar competing gifts and talents and there should he no discrimination. Why should a boy have to pretend to be a girl to compete against them? Girls dont have to pretend to be boys?
Let’s just go all in on this deal
THIS is the battle that needs to be fought, folks -- to get government the hell out of our lives no matter WHAT delusions anyone may have.
I don't see this at all. If anything, the cases you cite were nothing more than circus acts or freak shows where a men's team that was focused on something other than winning used a female athlete as a publicity stunt.
The first all-men's team I can remember signing a female athlete was the Harlem Globetrotter's. 'Nuff said.
I'm with you 100% on this one.
If women want to be treated as equals in the workplace, then Serena Williams can compete against Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.
