Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) said Tuesday on the “Utah Politics” podcast that it is disingenuous for Republicans to criticize Democrats for spending trillions of dollars on another coronavirus relief package after the GOP did not express deficit concerns under former President Donald Trump.
Romney said, “There’s no question that if you begin doing things which break precedent or break tradition, the other side is going to do that when they’re in charge. This was before my time in the Senate, but when we’ve put a tax program on that basis that did not require any Democrat votes through reconciliation, we have a difficult time explaining why we’re not happy with what they would be doing at this stage.

Unfortunately so.
He’s still a ****.
Willard the ‘RAT. Didn’t MJ sing a song about him?
This is a true statement, pretending now to suddenly be fiscally conservative after silence for 4 years is hypocritical.
To play the devil’s advocate the economy under Trump offset the spending. Although I still despise the out of control drunken sailor behavior of Congress. No offense to drunken sailors.
JEALOUSY is an ugly thing...
Even a broken clock gives the right time twice a day......
“He has a minor point”
It’s not the message, it’s the messenger.
He’s right, but it has nothing to do with Trump. The GOP exposed itself as a party of bloated government back in the 2000s during the days of George W. Bush and John Boner.
I don’t remember him being a loud voice against bloated government, just Trump. Did I miss something?
Are you stating that I’m jealous of Romney?

Ah, the talking rear end barks once again.
Said the Father of ObamaCare.
He has a point but he is the culprit not Trump. Congress now routinely waits until the eve of a government shut-down before sending a massive spending bill to the President. Thus, the only option is to sign it or be relentlessly attacked by the media every day for months. Does anyone remember Romney ever voting against one of these massive pork bills? Me either.
Dems controlled the House, where all spending bills originate.
No, it didn’t. Look at the GDP growth rates over the years. They may have been marginally higher under Trump than under Obama, but these growth rates would have been considered pathetic back in the 1980s and 1990s.
If the GOP were any good, they would expel this POS! Make the dems finance his campaigns.
He is right about him being as guilty under Trump as he is under Biden.
