(No search results) People hate America's big disparities in wealth. It's a reason why, among young people, socialism is as popular as capitalism.
The Democratic Socialists of America want a country based on "freedom, equality and solidarity." That sure sounds good.
But does socialism bring that?
My new video debunks several myths about socialism.
One reason for socialism's continued appeal is linguist Noam Chomsky. For generations, his work has taught students that capitalism is "a grotesque catastrophe."
I assumed the fall of the Soviet Union would put an end to such misinformation. It did -- for about a month.
But since then, the lust for socialism has come back strong. Today, Chomsky says that the Soviet Union "was about as remote from socialism as you could imagine."
"Absurd!" responds economist Ben Powell, author of "Socialism Sucks: Two Economists Drink Their Way Through the Unfree World."
When the Soviets made private businesses illegal, says Powell, "that's about as close as the world ever saw" to pure socialism.
Now that the Soviet Union is gone, MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi says "there is no true socialist country that exists."
No? What about Cuba, China, North Korea, Vietnam and Venezuela?
Velshi didn't respond when we asked him.

Liberty is inherently selfish. It means doing things the way YOU want to do them, not what your fellow man wants you to do. Liberty is also the very thing that made America the greatest country in the world.
Liberals do not even know that socialism is “government ownership of the means of production”. What they believe is socialism is what political philosophers call “welfare liberalism”, the use of government for purposes of welfare.
True socialism is a great evil that has murdered hundreds of millions of people (USSR, PRC, DNK, Khmer Cambodia, Communist Cuba, etc. etc.) If someone is still an advocate of true socialism after the 20th century slaughters, he is either a fool or evil. In my experience, the advocacy leaders are evil and the followers are silly little fools but with a real steak of sadistic cruelty.

Socialism is as “scientific” as the Mohave Indian battle of Shamans. Basically it means the most mediocre and neurotic local healer gets to impose his one and only righteous medicine on everyone else, and anyone deviating gets the ax.

Yes, socialism is most unceremonious when it kills/murders people.
I always find it ridiculous when people compare the unceremonious abortion with the extenuating political legal ceremony around a death row inmate. This is when you notice that society has become schizophrenic. It is not the killing that bothers it, it is that it is not implemented as unceremonious childish inner city murder and execution because of feelings.
They hate adult grown up system of respect. Yet they are the ones moralizing us about lack of respect in hate crimes...
If it did so solely to its advocates, immediately and with prejudice, everyone would benefit.
A good example is Crazy Bernie who has been living off the Vermont populace. He couldn’t make it under the competitive
capitalist system so he wrote pornography and ran for public office to live off OPM. OPM has made him rich and the dummies in VT. eat it up. He is worse than Biden as the only difference is Joe wants to play grabass with his constituents and Bernie tells you how to do it.
Cuba, China, North Korea, Russia, Vietnam and Venezuela... were neither democratic nor socialist. They were SOVIET nations that put one of those two words in their names.
Every country that has “Democratic Republic” in its name, isn’t a democratic republic. Ditto “People’s Republic”. Ditto “Socialist Republic”.
I’m surprised these “experts” haven’t noticed that. Or maybe they have and just count on gullible people not understanding the words involved.
We’ve had a lot of good education recently about what it means to be a republic. A lot of debate, and wrongthink, still goes on about whether or not the USA currently is a democracy.
Time to do that for the words “Soviet” and “democratic” so that people finally know what they’re talking about.
They need to know the difference between a republic that is socialist, and a society that is republican.
Socialism is the principle that are some things that need to be provided by society.
It is entirely possible for an entity to be both socialist and capitalist.

It was formed by workers creating a union, it has “members” not “customers”, and every year I get to vote for or veto its board.
Unlike a purely capitalist bank, I know where its money comes from and I know its business strategy. I know it’s not dealing with Russia or China, and never will.
It serves its members, its membership sets the rules by a democratic process.
If MAGA set up a bank and MAGA members had voting rights, it could be described as a society that serves its members, and it would be democratic.
America subsidises (socialises) the industrial military complex, big oil, big pharma and big banking, mortgages for the poor, national emergency response, some healthcare insurance and many other things - with naff all oversight or accountability outside of the deep state and foreign interests - but GOD FORBID it should ever add stuff like emergency services and geriatric care to the list because all the people would that’d be “socialist”.
American capitalist mantras on the subject ultimately helped to create the bizarre place it’s now in, where “socialism for the little people is unamerican” actually means “let’s have socialism for the billionaires, portfolio management, hedge fund managers, foreign actors, career bureaucrats, career politicians, lobbyists and monolithic conglomerates, who are the members of this massive socialist enterprise, but tell the thick plebs that socialism is just totally wrong for them”.
If socialism is intrinsically wrong then none of the banks should’ve had bailouts, no airline should have big tax breaks, no business should be “too big to fail”, no politician should ever have a vote on an industry they hold commercial business interests in, no public official should be profiting from their office, no ex president should have Secret Service protection paid for by the state, and so on.
The total absence of any element of socialism leads to anti-socialism. Anarchy. “You’re on your own”.
The rule of law is ITSELF a socialist principle.
The redefining of words to win arguments is very much what socilaists do.
