I suspect these are rotations. It’s the National Guard, not active duty, and they can’t keep them there for too long before their home units have a retention problem on their hands.

I don’t trust any of these reports regarding dates. Just because the article is dated today doesn’t mean that this is a photo and video from a MONTH ago. Or earlier. There is no way to verify the dates of photos and videos unless the original is uploaded with the full EXIF data intact...and there’s no way to determine if the EXIF date was altered.
Your posting of the so-called “hot mike” event for the Biden COVID press briefing included a photo showing it was from a Trump press briefing in April 2020.

My guess is, they are just bringing in replacements for the original guardsmen. However, the inaugural is over so I figure it is Congress demanding they be safeguarded. Congress and Biden won’t be treated well in the history books IMO. And if we have forever lost having a fair and true election then protection is needed for our new oligarchy.
Maybe they are afraid of some pre-zeroed indirect mortar fire from camouflaged holes in rooftops around the buildings.

At least 8 states recalled their NG deployed to DC after ‘garagegate’. Could these be replacements from other states?
Or, as someone else suggested, a rotation for the troops still deployed there?
Great so now they have turned our war fighters into mall cops.
I'm beginning to wonder about that.
Besides gun confiscation, the only thing I can think of, and some Democrats have talked about it during the Obama regime, is seizing people's 401k and/or IRA savings. Or worse, both. That would probably bring about a lot of bloodshed.
Question is: whatever makes them think they're safe, unless they never plan on leaving the confines of their "Green Zone"? Are they going to move their entire families there?
