A coronavirus stimulus package proposed by a group of Senate Republicans as an alternative to President Biden's would cost $600 billion and include direct payments "targeted" to families in need, Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., said Sunday.
Biden unveiled his proposed $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package earlier in January. Cassidy claimed that Biden did not even try to work with his bipartisan group of senators, colloquially known as the "sweet 16."
Cassidy and nine other Senate Republicans – Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Rob Portman of Ohio, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Todd Young of Indiana, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Mike Rounds of South Dakota and Thom Tillis of North Carolina – sent Biden a letter on Sunday with some information about their $600 billion plan.

The GOP knows that Democrats can and will pass the $1.9 trillion via reconciliation with no GOP support. This $600 billion proposal is a token alternative and the GOP will use it as another example of Dems ramrodding through executive orders, bills and reconciliation rather than show they have any interest whatsoever in bipartisanship.

They’re still giving themselves raises. If Big Gov can afford to give these grifters (“public servants” my azz) raises every time they themselves decide they need more money, then they can damn well give American citizens, hurting financially thanks at least in part because of foolish regulations forced upon us, a little help. Both sides will explode the budget with a quickness to bring in illegal immigration-cheap labor for the red jerseys, more votes for the blue jerseys (not that anyone’s counting). The red jerseys don’t do a thing to rein in government, each side of the uniparty expands it from different points. We The People (citizens) may as well get in on the gravy train (if they’ll allow us-back of the bus for whites, males, Christians, heterosexuals etc), because otherwise all we’ll get out of it is higher taxes to pay for it.
I am just curious where all this money is going to come from? Lets face it, a billion here and a billion there and before you know it we are talking real money. I know the US isn’t quite broke yet, but if this keeps on going, before long I do believe something undesirable may hit the proverbial fan.

I feel sorry for my grandchildren because they’ve been saddled with massive debt they had nothing to do with creating, but maybe they should ask their parents why they voted for Joke & the Ho. In the meantime I’m going to take whatever they give me because I know in a few years they’ll be keeping more and more of the money I earned.

Exactly. I have no grand kids but those of you that do look at them and say sorry. Is this going to be a financial crisis in 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years? I can’t say when but it will happen.
