Richard “Bigo” Barnett, whose conduct in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office made him among the most visible faces of the Capitol Hill insurrection, was ordered Thursday to remain jailed pending trial.
Mr. Barnett, 60, of Gravette, Arkansas, was remanded to federal custody by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Beryl A. Howell, who days earlier blocked a magistrate’s decision that he waits for trial at home.
Federal prosecutors have charged over 150 people so far with crimes related to storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, and the FBI is still trying to identify a number of suspects nearly a month later.

If he has lawyers, they are not helping him at all.
There is no reason this guy should be locked up, other than Nancy is in a snit. There should be more GOP voices rejecting this kind of unjust treatment, uneven legal treatment, based on your party.
If he were released pending trial, would he be likely to flee or be a danger to the public or himself? If not, it’s a political ruling.
He is setting in jail longer than the FBI lawyer who pled guilty to perjury.

Given that he took pictures of himself in there and posted them online, there’s not much about his actions that can be said to be “alleged”. In his own words, “I wrote her a nasty note, put my feet up on her desk, and scratched my balls.”

Ditto every word. They are the Uniparty, just wear different jerseys. As far back as Bush Second we had to fight them-“our” side-for supporting amnesty. Every instance since then that we’ve actually held their feet to the fire on conservative issues, they’ve betrayed us either outright or by just pretending the issue didn’t exist.

To many liberals, the most disgusting thing this man did was put his feet on Nancy’s sacred desk. Well, Obama couldn’t seem to keep his feet off the prized antique furniture in the Oval Office. There are a multitude of photos to prove it. And Hillary and Bill revered the furniture in the White House so much they absconded with several pieces when they left. They never served any jail time.
