I never understood the sign language thing at public announcements. Wouldn’t subtitles be better?
I don’t recall any pushback from dems on OBAMA’S FAKE sign language interpreter who was obviously wasn’t even vetted and later claimed mental illness.

Well if he translated misinformation, then he is perfect for Biden/Harris regime.
They are faster than subtitles during live events.
Knowing two interpreters they don’t have time to make up stuff. They have to both listen and speak at the same time. it’s quite the demanding profession. It’s not like translating different languages where the speaker knows to pause.

Most apps today can do Closed Captioning automatically. I use dynamic CC on Microsoft teams, and it’s very good.
You know it’s bad when it’s “far” right!
You never even hear the two words ‘far’ and ‘left’ used together. You rarely even hear the word “left”.

CC is not smart enough to capture the meaning. You can even search the FR archives how frustrating and wrong the translations are. That’s why ASL people are used.
I studied ASL in high school, as a gift to my deaf cousin. I saw what she did a few times and she’s doing a great job. No “F U Biden I hope you choke on your vomit” interpretation (I wish there was)..
As a hearing impaired person, I know sign language. The problem is that many people with hearing loss have failed to acquire literacy so they depend on sign language interpreters. I think the only time that an interpreter should be provided is when a Governor of a state is warning his citizens that a deadly hurricane is on its way, then yes, you want to save as many lives as possible.

Sounds like a dog faced pony soldier.
I have seen this interpreter online. She is doing a great job. There are a lot of videos out there, interpreters tend to be left. So this lady decides to interpret Trump’s videos and the like. So any MAGA fan with hearing loss can watch Trump’s videos online and understand them now because they’re not able to understand English subtitles due to ASL being their first language and they have never acquired literacy in English in the first place.
