Bed, Bath & Beyond stock collapses by 36% after Mike Lindell canceled: Retail chain suffers biggest 1-day loss ever amid boycott supporting 'MyPillow guy'

Amid a boycott in response to its politically motivated decision to drop Mike Lindell’s MyPillow products, shares of Bed Bath & Beyond plunged 36.4% at the close of trading Thursday. The retail chain suffered its biggest one-day loss since going public in June 1992.

Article by Art Moore originally published at WND.

The consumer organization Media Action Network launched the boycott of Bed, Bath & Beyond after the retail chain stopped selling Lindell’s products due to his support of President Trump’s claim that fraud affected the outcome of the 2020 election. Retailers Wayfair and Kohl’s also have stopped selling MyPillow products.

Lindell, famous for his TV ads, employs more than 1,500 people at his Minnesota plant. He recounted to WND last May the remarkable transformation in his life through his faith in Jesus Christ.

“This isn’t about pillows. It’s about the continual punishment of conservative speech,” Media Action Network founder Ken LaCorte said in an announcement of the boycott.

“And we’ve had enough.”

Media Action Network has a petition online in support of the boycott with nearly 24,000 signatures so far.

“Every time we turn around, another conservative has been silenced under false pretenses of ‘hate’ or ‘isms’ or the most recent offense-de-jour,” said LaCorte. “We’re fighting back.”

Protesters at Bed, Bath & Beyond’s store in Larkspur, California, on Tuesday left checkers with a $20 tip and a statement for CEO Mark Tritton.

“Stop promoting ‘cancel,” they wrote. “You buckled to pressure, removing MyPillow products … because of Mike Lindell’s politics. It’s un-American.

“Our country was founded on the principle of free speech and open debate,” the wrote. “These days, censorship and suppression are far too common, and you’re now part of the problem. You have that right, of course, but realize you’re antagonizing half of your customers. And Mark … we’ve had enough. We’re tired of corporate big-shots looking down on our beliefs. Reverse this decision now and get out of politics, or we’re done with you forever.”

We’ve been very satisfied with My Pillow products for some time. We’ve been debating ordering sheets. These virtue signalling actions by BB&B, etc., convinced us to order some sheets to demonstrate our support. Just called and bought two sets of sheets and a pillow for my wife.

I started using My Pillow for the first time on Monday. Very nice product. The sheets sets are nice as well. I’ll be ordering more.

RE: BBBY is part of a stock war going on and it is gyrating like crazy - up and down - due to the same thing that is happening with gamestop stock.

Can you refer us to a link that tells us how BBB is being shorted like Gamestop and AMC were?

There are less and less stores to go to. Get use to buying online!!! I will never buy a dress online again. Everything we’ve bought online we’ve had problems with. Cheap crap. Not worth the hassle. I’ll do without!

Naive me needs to have that explained.

“Lindell, famous for his TV ads ...”

He was on Rush’s show a few days ago. He’s dynamite, Trump-like. He’s going to be a conservative leader.

This is what is relevant : Did they suffer a massive 36% fall in market value in just one day, after announcing they were not selling MyPilow products anymore? Yes.

Hmm. Lindell announced that BB&B were dropping his products on January 19. On that date, the stock closed at $25 a share. A week later, it was at $35 a share. There was a one-day spike that drove it to $53, driven by the Reddit/GameStop crowd, but now it's come back down to $35, 30% over what it was before announcing the My Pillow thing. So how does that fit into your relevance?

Can you redeem them for cash?

“President Trump won.”

Of course; that’s Lindell’s point of view, too. So you agree with him.

“Lets do another Goya for MyPillow.”

And Goya went squishy a couple weeks ago — put a gag order on the pro-Trump CEO.

Tax payers with disposable earned income . Not EBT or welfare scammers.

Friends son is a bagger at local Fla major grocery chain and reports many EBT shoppers need help loading their purchases into their Mercedes or high end SUV

Goya had their best quarter ever, all from sales to Trump supporters, after the Dems and the left wing crazies called for a boycott of Goya.
As for anyone putting a gag order on MyPillow CEO, that is laughable. Mike Lindell actually owns the company and he is the chief salesman.

“Naive me needs to have that explained.”

I’m not SURE, but I took it to mean that homosexual men gravitate to BBBY the same way they do to show tunes and Barbra Streisand. Again, I’m not sure.
