People aging with HIV were 10% more likely to have two or more non-HIV chronic health conditions in 2016 than they were in 2006. Additionally, the number of people with four or five chronic conditions increased significantly.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, people disadvantaged by social determinants of health, such as female sex and having public health insurance, were more likely than their male and privately insured counterparts to have multiple chronic conditions, according to the findings of a study published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases.

This used to be known as “growing older” before everyone got Woke.
Wow, did they ever blow some smoke with this one. They try to equate AIDS patients with low-income females on public insurance. Um, no. The vast majority of AIDS patients are homosexual males and IV drug users.
Why is it that when somebody has a lot of health problems, it’s always due to their being disadvantaged? I guess their lifestyle has nothing to do with it.
Once you get HIV, you grow older much faster.
Look at Charlie Sheen. He looks at least 20 years older than he is.
living with hiv is not healthy living
Heart disease, cancer, MS, etc.: take a back seat to the queers.
Don’t forget Barney Fagg. I’m surprised Magic Johnson’s still alive.
Here's an earlier related thread I posted with useful information:

An interesting graphic from that article, to answer your question:
Not necessarily, but I know what you're getting at. PROPORTIONALLY, homosexual males (MSM) are astronomically more at risk of HIV/AIDS. But since there are perhaps dozens of females for every male homosxual in the population, their numbers are slightly higher.
Bonus fact: HIV/AIDS IS most definitely the "gay" disease. Men who contract it largely contract it from sex with other men, or through recreational injection drugs. Women contract it from men who have sex or share needles with other men. Children who contract it (other than the relatively rare birth infections) contract it from sexual assault by men who have sex with other men.
It's a "gay"-centric disease.
In California you are able to infect someone with HIV and no jail time....Wonder how long before they think it’s okay to do this to kids????
I searched for the expected life expectancy of someone with HIV. The answer is 69 for non-whites and 77 for whites, presumably because of white privilege. But they all seem to have a caveat. The HIV person must always take the antiviral drugs. As a matter of fact, the wording implies that they can live to that age. Not that they do live to that age. The wording was odd enough to raise the question, is there any real data? My guess is these are theoretical numbers based on someone always taking the antiviral drugs. I have read several articles over the years stating that many, if not most, HIV users either stop taking the drugs or don’t take them reliably. I am suspicious that if the real data was available that someone with HIV, on average, dies decades before he otherwise might.
Just tattoo a bullseye around their butthole. That will get them thinking twice about what they’re doing.
Assinine article.
All the new stats are all theoretical. The new treatments haven’t even been around long enough to see the people they’re supposed to help age up to the normal lifespan.
Ask to see a lot of people over 65 who are HIV positive and you’ll be presented with a pitiful few.
Magic Johnson still looks good.
Granted, but you have to tease the little truth there is out of it. That truth is that HIV, even "under control," is a life-shortener.
Isn’t HIV an auto-immune disease? Once you get one auto-immune disease, your chances of having multiple auto-immune diseases increases.
I thought I had heard that Magic Johnson had tested negative after several years of treatment.
A lot of people test negative under treatment. But drop the treatments and the infection will come back.
A few years ago on a homosexual health site, I read people with HIV aged 14 years. They didn’t specify that they died 14 years earlier, but I assume so.
